Feature #76153

Might be dead but who knows. Just tell them you wanna add the unlimited 4g hotspot feature. Took me 2 calls but i got it. Just make sure its unlimited the first guy said the plan would drop my data from 10gigs to 6gigs. The second person a few hours later said it was unlimited and that's what my account shows now.

im not sure if its worth taking the risk of being reverted to half the data you currently have. i think im just going to stick with my 4gb for $30, and not risk being reverted to 2gb for the same price after 1 month of unlimited.
who really knows what will happen though :-\

If you have a feature you keep it until you change it. They just cant drop it. Confirmed with with Verizon just now. I don't know how that will work for those who don't have contracts or if you miss a payment but she said as long as you have the feature you keep it. My advice is if you can still get the unlimited data and hot spot get it and just keep the hot spot so your not doing the loop hole and you should be ok

You really don't wanna try get and get it and then they fix it and when you remove the hotspot it drops the data plan to and makes you pic a new one and you no longer get the dbl. data.

This seems like something that they will remove once caught. I'm very hesitant to try it.

this is not new. People have used it for 6 months now. It started back in july. From the first reports, some of the users have even removed the hotspot and still have unlimited. So this is not something new.!

Been going on for 6 months now. Either they are playing stupid or they simply don't care if a few hundred users get unlimited.

my issue is that right now I'm paying for the 10 gig for 50 dollars. If I switch over to this hotspots trick and later bump me off the unlimited, they will probably bump everyone to the 2 gb a month for 30 which would not be enough for me.

Verizon rep said after you get it, You have it until you change it. Meaning you can keep it for as long as you like. She said until i change my plan i will have the unlimited data and mobile hotspot.

They have no right to bump you back to 2gb, if they bump you back it would have to go to your original plan. You signed a contract to 4gb or 10gb, and they gave you unlimited, if you change unlimited on your own than I can understand, but they absolutely have no right to screw you over and give you 2gb plan when your original plan was double the data plan. That is not fair business. If they are going to switch you back it has to be 4g plan, unless you manually go in and change your plan to 2gb, which is pretty much crazy.

Or they let you get out of contract and cancel the line.

u may of signed a contract for 4gb but then you later amended your contract when you made the change

read my previous posts, i am the LAST person to ever defend verizon

but the legal aspect of your argument has no basis

How so they just cant randomly change your plan just because they feel like charging you more money. That's like your mortgage lender saying your payments are not $45,000 a week, Don't like it its ok we can set you up in this nice crack house.

Bottom line. I called Verizon and they said flat out that they don't and cant just drop features off your plan. Only you can do that. So if you got unlimited data and your hotspot. You keep it until you remove it.

Now back on topic.

A friend of mine just called today about 4 times before he got thought and was able to get the unlimited data and hotspot. So it is still available you just gotta get the right person.

I'm confused by what u mean/your point and cannot find your last post.

I know what your getting at. I hope it works that way but I would not know how to fight it.

Back on topic I just got unlimited data without the hotspot. I just asked for it. Guess I got a good person.

If you have 4GB now and you do this, even if they find out later on then they would still have to honer you back with 4GB. Its not your fault, its their mistake. Just remove the hotspot cause if you keep it, that's $30 more on top of $30 for the data plan. $60 total. Add then subtract. Simple math. :P

PS: If you do this, stay on wifi as much as possible and don't take crazy advantage of the LTE. That might trigger them :X

O'really so verizon gave me unlimited and than wants to screw me back by reducing my original plan. I didn't hold a gun to somebody's head to have them change my plan. Yes I have a legal basis to my argument. They have no right to change my plan on their own and reverting me back to less than my original plan i signed up for. I can demand a plan that I originally had because the mistake was not made on my part it was made on their end. They willingly gave me the unlimited plan, if they are going to take it off without letting me know than they better give me my original plan back. Legal or not, that is what makes sense to any person with a brain on their head.

Lol. Don't worry. We as the customers are not wrong for doing this. If they messed up. They have to make it right. Or we threaten to go with Sprint :X lol

Hi. Here's my take based on my experience. First, as we all know, ALL of the reps either at the actual Corp. store or if you call, seem to have a different answer. That is the biggest problem. Keep all emails and paper statements if you have them.

Anyway, from what I was told, the Unlimited Hot Spot was only for an online promotion for the Thunderbolt only, which I bought on July 6th, 2011. Long story, so won't bore you! Because of bad connection problems with the T-Bolt, I was sent an iPhone. Low and behold, my Unlimited plan had changed to only 2GB for the MHS, although my phone data plan stayed at Unlimited.

I called and the guy was very curt and said there was NEVER an Unlimited plan at anytime on Verizon for the MHS. He said he had a T-Bolt and he should know. After many calls/emails, a nice lady rep. did find it in the system. Luckily I had my contract and bill that showed Unlimited for the MHS. It is still very confusing as I would have to go back to the T-Bolt to get the Unlimited MHS again. I purchased the Nexus and also selected the upgrade when I tried to access it from my phone for $30.00. Online, it still just shows MHS(it does not show any type of limit like some of the options show).

So, I am hoping that this is also the Unlimited plan for 4G(new tower next to my house for 7 months now but still not put into to operation!). Please keep all documents or print them up so you have actual proof. Since the answers can vary depending on who you talk to, having good documentation is your only way to protect yourself.

And this is the SHORT version of what happened! I am sure a lot of you can relate as I can't be the only one who has had problems and not just with Verizon.

Happy New Years-2012!

My guess is that it is in the system, But some reps don't want to give it out. I bet its a sales deal where, unless necessary, the deal does not exist. 24 hour fitness used to have deals like that where we had to lie to everyone about prices unless they got really mad or if there was no way to get them to sign the normal price. It would be a "manager" deal but everyone could do it if necessary.
