How can I get to the drop down menu and change the volume settings without having to go into setting every time?

With the new Lollipop update - using alarms only works in priority mode, not silent/do not disturb mode. Is there a way to swipe down and get your menu (Wi-Fi, location, volume, etc) and change the volume setting to priority by the click of it, instead of having to go into settings every single time? It is extremely inconvenient.

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone do you have? On the Nexus 5, if you simply press the Volume Up or Volume Down button, a volume slider appears at the top of the screen, along with a Priority button.
