Android Central Question

I have tied to look for a fix for this numerous times without any joy. I typically add my meetings and appointments in to my outlook (not outlook .com) calendar when at my desk. It would be great if this synced directly to mt calendar on my phone so I can see my diary when I am away from my desk.

Wouldn't that require manual intervention? I think the OP is looking for an automatic/ongoing process.

I use "gsyncit" Fieldston Software - gSyncit - The Ultimate Outlook Synchronizer - Sync Outlook with Google, Toodledo, Evernote, Informant, iCloud, AOL, Yahoo, Synology, Fruux, Memotoo and CalDav/CardDav services.
It syncs outlook on your PC through google to phone, it syncs in both directions (if you wish). You have your choice of what to sync (it will also do multiple calendars and categories by color)
I have been using it for a few years, and it keeps all of my devices in sync.
I also use gsyncit to keep my phone and outlook on my pc in sync. As Larry Kay said, the data will go from outlook to Google to the phone or vice versa. I have been using it for 5 or 6 years. Works great for both contacts and calendar.

Outlook (when running the way it's supposed to) connects to is connected to Exchange Server, running at your office. Since there are so many different ways of setting Exchange up (it's not quite infinite, but it sure feels like it), ask your email or Exchange administrator how to sync your Outlook calendar to your Google calendar. (According to a few sources, you'll see that you can try adding your Exchange calendar to your Google calendar "but it doesn't always work". If Exchange is set for ics, it probably will, but that's for the administrator to set up or not.

I'm guessing the OP is talking about a local only situation with the installation of desktop Outlook on a PC.

I'm also guessing that there is no Exchange account involved here. Outlook can run on a PC without an Exchange account. It can also be an email client for IMAP and Pop3 email accounts.

That's how I've run it for my home use for years.

I've only recently made an outlook.com account (well, about 2 years ago), and tied my home ISP IMAP email to it. Now I can sync my calendar, contacts and emails on my PC with the phone OTA with outlook.com's EAS service.
