how do i set a downloaded sound as text message notification on samsung s6 edge+ ?

when i go on message notifications > notification sound it only lets me select from pre installed list of tones , how can i access a tone that is dowloaded and set it as the notification sound ?
all help appreciated

Welcome to the forums. Zedge is a popular app on Play that should allow you to choose the sounds that you download from them. Perhaps that will work?
