How is the bluetooth compatability?

Has anybody tried to sync their Droid 3 with their car's onboard Bluetooth system yet? I ask because the Droid OG, Droid 2, and Droid X all played very nicely with the system in my current car ('09 BMW 328i) but I had a lot of trouble getting a Droid 2 Global to pair and there are others who have reported similar issues with the Droid Pro. So, I'm wondering if the more recent Motorola devices just have some sort of compatibility issue I'm not aware of.

On Thursday, I am going to go the Verizon store and insist that they let me try one in my car. But, until then, I thought I'd see if anybody had tried it.

We paired mine to my Fiancee's 2011 Kia Forte (Bluetooth system comes standard, didn't really believe that at first) and figured I'd have issues with it. But it was really easy and works great.

Calls go through the speaker/mic just fine, and you can play your phone's music files through the car's stereo. Droid3+Bluetooth+Google Music Beta was pretty sweet.

Thanks, Ethame! Obviously, the KIA and BMW will have different BT implementations, but this gives me reason for optimism.

Yeah, I wasn't going to reply, because you had said BMW, but ... I figured no one else had so I might as well.

I found your reply helpful. It at least tells me that the Droid 3 is working well with a car's on-board system. If you had said "Nah, won't work in my fiance's car..." I might have given up at that point.

Almost every phone I've used worked great in my BMW. Somehow though the Droid 2 global would not.

Happy to report it is doing fine with the BMW BT. Odd thing is that the D2G I had earlier would not pair.

I have a 2010 Camaro. It syncs with the boothtooth fine, but drops in the middle of calls. This could be a deal-breaker for me--I spend a lot of time in my vehicle.

Syncs flawlessly with Fords MS Sync. Ive completed successful and robust connections in 2011 Escape as well as 2011 Edge with the MyTouch system.

I have the exact same issue with the D3 and my 2010 Camaro. Drops and you have to turn Bluetooth on and off to get it to connect again. Really aggravating.
