How many Defective Phones have you gone through?

Not talking about Apple's Antenna, Bend or Samsung's Note 7.

I had 2 out of the box. We're talking about 200+ phones since 2009, the year I got into Smart Phones.

1. Samsung Galaxy S7 edge. Dead pixel. Samsung took care of it in 4 hours. Replaced the display.

2. Google Pixel 7. Strange issue. Whenever I use Instagram Reel or YouTube Shorts the video turns into rainbow, distorted.

I have to go to one of their service centers. They couldn't repair so they got Google to send me a replacement.

Not sure if my worst experience ever counts as a defective because it was a POS lemon. Google was no help at all. I was told numerous times to wait for the next update. I couldn't believe they wouldn't replace my Pixel 6 Pro. Worst phone ever, I was forced to sell it.

How about you?

My Nexus 6P died after I think a little over a year -- bootloop of death. I had the equivalent of Preferred Care back then, and they replaced it with a Pixel XL, which was great. Not sure this could be called a defect, but the 6P was known to have issues like this.

My Pixel 3 XL also died, but I think it was after 18 months or so -- it was beyond the coverage of Preferred Care. Again, not sure if you could call this a defect.

I had a Nokia E71x that I purchased brand new at an AT&T store back in 2009. The battery died in only 3 hours just sitting on my desk. I returned it to the AT&T store within the first week I had it. They spent 6 hours trying to see what was wrong and calling other stores to see if replacements were available. When none could be found, the store manager gave me a Blackberry 9000 for the same price as the defective Nokia.

I had a Galaxy s9+ that I ordered directly through T-Mobile, my last carrier locked phone. When I was on a phone call it sounded like I was talking into a tin can. I wasn't the only s9 user experiencing that issue. I should have returned it right away, but I kept reading about an update that would solve the issue. It never was resolved. I hung on to it until the Note 20Ultra was released.

I learned a lesson. If a device arrives with a problem, send it back.
😊

Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P and LG G3

LG G3's has overheating issues and pretty sure mine cooked itself.
Nexus 5x was just starting to exhibit that broken core issue.
Nexus 6P said screw you the day I bought the Pixel 2XL and died that very day.

I just mentioned the Bold 9000 in my introduction post. Man, I miss that phone dearly. The epitome of class with the leather back and at the time the display was absolutely incredible. Awesome time for smartphones.
