How many people already gave up on Thunderbolt

I agree that most folks don't really know...or even care. I am not considering something else because I am mad...I am considering something else because since it will be March anyway...why not wait a week or two and see what the next big announcements are? The Samsung G2 is coming (we do not know when) to AT&T and won't HTC have a dual core on T-mobile by summer? I know it is not real LTE....but the speeds are robust enough aren't they?

Don't worry, I lived in the best ATT coverage spot. Never experience any drop call even use the evil iphone4

Are you guys serious? Verizon hasn't announced a release date, so it can't be considered delayed. All of the dates we have heard were just tentative and rumored, it is YOUR fault for counting on something not even remotely confirmed. Do not say that since Best Buy said the 14th, that it is on Verizon for not following through.

Honestly. And for the, how much do you think Verizon is losing. Realistically, zero dollars. Considering 99% of the Verizon population knows little to nothing about this device, people aren't throwing in the towel. We are a very small minority in the informed community. Some of ya'll are acting like spoiled children. If the 24th comes and goes with nothing, THEN you can cry.

I think whats getting on my nerves (and many others) the most is all of these other carriers are continually releasing new android phones, yet verizon has not released any new ones in a while.. Sprint, at&t and tmobile have all been releasing new phones lately, what has verizon released lately outside of the iphone? It's getting pretty old.

Exactly, at&t and sprint both are on the ball with bringing out new phones, giving info for pre-orders and what not, verizon on the other hand just seems to be super lazy. If it was not for being the main account holder on a family plan with 3 others I would really consider jumping ship to at&t for the atrix..

Evo is the only solid phone. The Epic is a joke till it gets 2.2, The Shift is not the greatest device, just an alternative to the Epic cause Sammy sucks at getting updates. And the Echo? Please you couldn't pay me to own that POS for the 12 months.

Yea, I can't upgrade until march 8th anyway so I have to wait. I still use the enV Touch and it really sucks bad. The phone shuts off for no reason and sometimes when I get a text my phone screen turns white and doesn't respond to anything so I have to take the battery off and start it over. I have never owned a smartphone and I wanted the TBolt to pop my cherry. I thought it was the one What wil I do as an alternate if it doesn't come out before March?

If you get the phone through VZW over the phone they'll upgrade your account if its in a month or so.

People are getting worked up only half way through February when the phone has no release date so it's not like they told you February 14th and never told you it was delayed. Matter of fact I don't even recall VZW saying the 14th. Best Buy simply started taking pre-orders. Not to mention the ads say February PERIOD. You still have another 14 days left in February. Get a grip on reality. It's not the end of the world.

There is a leaked document from vzw that says something along the lines of "HTC Thunderbolt- Release date 2/14/2011 Delayed. No ETA at this time"

Yes because "leaked" documents can't be photoshopped. Even if it wasn't, there was no official announcement from VZW simply a picture from someone who I'm sure wasn't supposed to share that info. Still nothing to get people's panties in a bunch. I want the phone too but I'm not wigging out because it didn't drop today. There's a difference between wanting something and needing it and unless your phone is hanging on by a thread, the screen is cracked, battery doesn't hold a charge, looks like the dog chewed it and the buttons are missing you will live.

I've used an iphone extensively abroad, and you still drop calls abroad. It's not 100% AT&T.

RE: the original question--I was planning on switching from Sprint to Verizon as soon as the Thunderbolt dropped, but the Atrix preorder is mighty tempting. And the fact that reviews are coming in, when we haven't heard a peep about the Thunderbolt.

I'd rather know what's coming, rather than wait and wonder about dates. We have no idea if the 24th is a hard date. March 6th is. Who knows, maybe the Thunderbolt won't even be out in February? Plus, the Atrix is cheaper, which is kinda absurd.

I haven't understood this either. If, IF, the TBolt comes out on the 24th, that's still earlier than any of the devices with the same credibility. Sure the waiting sucks, but we're two weeks away. If it hits March, then I'll probably... well I'll still wait. I'm the third line on my account so for $30 a month I'm not leaving that deal lol.

But if early March hits without the Thunderbolt, or let alone an announcement, and THEN you want to get the Atrix, we'll all understand. But at this point... we've been being disappointed for less than a month, so why not wait another week or two?
