How much data does maintaining a Chromebook use?

Does maintaining a Chromebook use comparable amounts of data to Windows 10? I'm quite interested in purchasing a Chromebook. However, I get my home internet exclusively from my 8 GB MetroPCS hotspot. With that said, I'm on a strictly metered home connection.

Welcome to Android Central! I don't have a definitive answer, but I would say that if you also use Chrome on your PC, then it's probably about the same if not less (since the Chromebook wouldn't have any Windows programs running in the background, like antivirus apps). In addition, you could install the Data Saver Chrome extension (which is from Google themselves, so it's trustworthy).
