Lol! It's all good! I got to navigate around in CWM for a while but found my way back! I figured out if I can get back to the Reboot command It's usually a good thing!:p

try this kernel HERE
you can flash it from clockwork now that you have it

Hey Mouser, I used used this stupidfast-v1.54 to regain vibration. However, if you use that, you wont be able to upgrade to froyo with out flashing a different kernel. Just FYI. That stupidfast link Droid posted will probably work too, but v1.54 is known to be stable

Try both, 1.54 was not stable for me i would get cracking and poping while playing music

OK. But which option do I select in CWM to install the kernel and is it the whole file I downloaded to the sd card right?

put the whole file on your sd card, not in any folders

then boot into clockwork
select the following
install zip from sdcard>choose zip from sdcard> (select desired zip file)> yes>reboot system

You want to choose install zip from sdcard>choose zip from sdcard and select the stupidfast zip on you sdcard. Then say yes to apply. And yes, put the whole zip file on your sdcard

Ok, I get to choose a zip to apply, I highlight -stupidfast-test-v1/ I hit the power key to select and I go another menu that says Choose a zip to apply
-METa-INF/
-kernal.update/
-system/

Suggestions which one to select?

it looks like you unzipped the file, its not suppose to be unzipped

I am doing this on my mac. Would that make a difference? I can go to a pc and check to see if the file gets downloaded the same way.

Thanks!

It shouldnt make a difference on Mac. Just as long as you dont double click the zip after you download it

I woudn't think so but with the mac it places it on the sd card without the .zip

OK.... dowloaded the zip file with pc.....CWM says:

--Installing: SDCARD:stupidfast-test-v1.76.zip
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
E:Can't open /sdcard/stupidfast-test-v1.76.zip
(bad)
Installation aborted

Sorry to take up so much time on this issue....particularly since I haven't flashed froyo.
I am going to try the other zip file and see if that changes anything.

You can use this 1-click-pushtosdcard.zip to move the file to your phone. Make sure the phone is in USB debugging mode, plug it into your computer, then run the app. Not sure why the installation failed.. Other then maybe a permissions issue. Try putting this update.zip on your sdcard as well, you can use the method above.

Braydon:

Should of asked before I try this but will flashing this file wipe my data? Just curious..... I have made backups. Also you mentioned I wont be able to flash Froyo without flashing a different kernel. Would that stop me from being able to receive the OTA update?

Thanks!

No need to wipe...yes you can flash froyo,,,, yes it will stop it

What Droid said, and no it wont wipe your data.

When I had the 1.54 stupid fast kernel and tried to flash froyo, it failed. I'll test this out again and see how it works.
