So after far too many hours of being told by my pc that I had bad drivers and adb not showing the device I finally got it working. I had deleted my android directory and reinstalled it with the easyadb installer with driver. That alone didn't help until I went into the nook's settings and disabled/reenabled the USB debugging feature. Now I can easily reconnect by disabling/reenabling the debug feature. This was done in win 7 x64. I hope this can help others.

Are there certain advantages in using Froyo ROM on Nook Color or it make sense to just skip it and go to Honeycomb?
If I download and I install nookhoney04 image today, will I need to install update, or is it already latest version?

My NC seems to be dead now. I went to power it off to boot back off Froyo and it refuses to turn on. Let it set on the charger a few hours with same result.

Had that happen also... had to hold in the power button for 30 seconds or so. It does seem touchy when it comes to turning it on.

i get "error:device offline"
but i see it on my Computer management > device manager > android phone > android composite adb interface
This is what i did tho. when i first installed the SKD developer kit, i noticed there wasn't a platform-tools folder but i started the SDK.exe and downloaded the tool kit and it gave me the platform-tools. dont know if that screwed things up

Ok so got honeycomb installed to sd. Now i can't get wifi to connect for the life of me, neither can i adb push, keeps telling me no device detected. Help please!.
i dont see any disadvantage in using HC (sd card) since you are booting from the sd card. you can take the sd card out and it would boot to what ever is in the internal Nook memory. Thats the reason why i havent install HC it in my Nook's internal memory.
you could upgrade very easy, you would have to burn another sd card and thats it.
what do you get if you put, adb devices? if you get no devices found.
then you have to follow the guide in the link (for windows)
Once you install the sdk, there are a couple of steps needed to get it abb to work properly.
you have set adb in the enviroment path and install the drivers.
the link in the previous page will explain everything.

On the wifi issues, im not sure. when you go to settings does it try to connect? it could also be the type of encryption you have on your router? try rebooting the router.
I cant wait for the official HC to come out. I am very happy with the nook color. I got a good HC tablet for $250. The best thing is the dev community is very active.
I've tried a number of different sizes of cards with different speeds. From my experience, it doesn't seem to be the class but the capacity. I haven't had much luck with 16 or 32 GB cards (sometimes they will work until after loading a bunch of apps; or maybe it is just booting and rebooting, but I ultimately wind up with the password error. The 32GB booted directly to the password screen...). The Nook documentation says the Nook is compatible with up to class 6 cards, but my current 8GB class 10 seems to be holding up... so far.
Ultimately, we need someone to find the source for this screen and delete it or work out a viable password. Any devs up to the task/a challenge?

A little tip I might add for the noobies out there (such as was the case for myself) is that windows wont be able to format an sd card back to 1 full partition after you have written the image to the card. So download the HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool (and use a card reader) and it will get your card back to normal.
Another thing I have noticed is installing apps from the market is ungodly slow, but again cant be picky at this early stage, and I know that will improve.

As was stated in an earlier post, Easeus can repartition the card to regain the full storage capability. Possibly other applications will also do this, however I tried gparted on a Linux computer and it didn't see the sd card.
Apps install pretty quickly for me.
I too ran into the "device offline" issue. Earlier, I read that someone used a third party USB cable when this occurred. I swapped the cables and voila, it was working. Changed back to the Nook cable, it failed again.
I love running Honeycomb on my nook and want to thank the people responsible for porting it to the Nook. I have a question after installing the market and Google apps does anyone get an icon for Google Maps?

WinImage error (...process cannot access the file...)
A little late to this party. Just recently got my Nook Color and I'm interested in trying Honeycomb using the (micro) SD card method. Using WinImage (v8.5) with Patriot LX Series 16GB card (using Win 7 x64). Whenever I try to burn the HC image to the card, I get the following error message, "Error in writing disk. The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process." Have not been able to figure out what this other "process" is that's causing the problem. No unnecessary windows are open or programs running. Based on what I've been reading in this thread, I'm a little worried that once I get this problem fixed I may still have a problem with the card in the Nook Color (originally bought the class 10 card thinking it would help with performance, but now finding out that (at least according to the Nook Color manual) it supports class 6 cards). However, I'm at least willing to try and see what happens. Any help would be greatly appreciated and a big "thank you" to all those hard at work on all of this...

Thanks. I got the wifi working, it was a setting with shared or open network in my router settings. Now to tackle the adb so i can have market etc on my NC.
