[HOW-TO] Download/Install Honeycomb to Nook Color (SD card)

I've read the entire thread. I have honeycomb running on my NC fine.

I don't have a clue how to install the market.
Do I install the two downloads on my NC or my PC?
Do I connect my NC to PC?

Can someone dumb down the instructions step by step?

It can't really be dumbed-down any further, if this doesn't work for you, you might have issues with the way one of the components is set up.

You will download 2 files to your PC. Unzip them, and place the two .apk files in the same folder that contains the adb.exe file. THis is so when you run the adb command window, it knows where to get the files that it will push to your nook device.

Once you have found this folder and copied the files to it, make sure your nook is connected. I can't recall the link, but if you have issues, there is a set of drivers out there for recognizing the h.c. nook.

Assuming you have it connected correctly, open a command window by holding shift and right-clicking to get the "open command prompt from here" option in the context menu. Click that link, then type the commands exactly as shown. This should push the two files you need for the marketplace onto your nook, and you will be all set. Note that there are real stability problems with apps on h.c. right now. HTH

SDK

I installed honeycomb onto my nook. However I can not get SDK to recognize the Nook nor can i get the market place installed onto the nook. I am able to turn the nook on and use it but its kinda useless if all you can do is check email and go on websites. Please help with this problem.

I tired that too. It still does not work. I used the link and installed the file the way it told me to.

So any idea when we're going to see this running off of internal storage instead of SD? I have a 16gb SD card and it breaks my heart having it only have a gb and some change left on it after this due to how it's set up and all.

I was able to increase the "sdcard" partition, but is there a way for the computer to then be able to access that storage? I can see the space on my Nook, and can certainly pull down files with Dropbox, but it would be nice to be able to load large (i.e. video) files directly to the card.

RE: Keep Getting device not found

Im in command prompt, but when i input the first line it says Device not found.. I have the nook hooked up through USB.

on the Nook - there isn't any notification that my NC is connected to PC..

Keep Getting device not found :(

-----------

I know it sounds silly, but is it possible the device is connected, but it hasn't been 'woken up' and then the unlock code keyed in? I have to remember to do that on mine before it shows up as connected.

Might be the wrong though, but it's worth mentioning just in case.

Artaq.... AWESOME.... now I just have to wait until I get home from work and throw it on my Wifi network. Market has loaded and just need to go play. Thanks for all the assistance and troubleshooting.

No problem! I'm new to this as well, in fact this is my first Android device :). My wife wanted something she could read in bed with the lights out, wanted access to both nook and amazon books, and this seems like a no-brainer to me. If this successfully works then she can dump that kindle to the curb :)

Speaking of Amazon Marketplace, anyone able to get it working yet? I'm experiencing the same issues noted by others - crashing of the app and rebooting of the nook... Would LOVE to see this working right.

No go on the install

I have tried everything I can think of. I have a Windows Vista machine. I tried the 32bit version of WinImage as well as the 64bit version. Neither can even open the unpacked nookhoney02.img file after it's been extracted using WinRAR.

I've downloaded the zip file several times. Using the straight download, and the bittorrent download. The MD5 check checks out fine. I guess it's time to give up for a while. Any encouragement and advice would be welcome...

It's not like I don't have a clue what I'm doing. I rooted the nook, and I've also got an image for NookieFroyo up and running... :-(

Tried everything. Nothing is working. My nook wasnt rooted before but i have downloaded all the softwares needed to do this. SDK just wont pick up my nook. I dont know if there is some kinda setting I need to change or whatever else. Is anyone else having a similar problem?

Honeycomb requesting password upon bootup

I read one other person with this problem, but did not see a solution posted. Anyone else having the problem after the Android screen flashes it goes to an enter password screen? Anyone know how to get pass this one yet. Thanks for the help, I just got my Nook and decided to give this ago.

I have found that with HC3 I can't access books and .pdf(s) that I had on my Nook before I rooted it. Has anyone else found that to be true?

What 'am I doing wrong?

A question
Can you put music on that?
Does anybody think that worth by a nook color just to use like a tablet?

Tried this.. SDK still wont notice the Nook. Is there some kinda settings I need to change?
Triptish, you need to make sure that your PC recognizes the Nook as an android device. There is a link to the drivers needed to have the pc recognize the nook in the detailed instructions for installing Froyo where it says "install.exe" I don't remember the exact wording.
