[HOW-TO] Download/Install Honeycomb to Nook Color (SD card)

Downloading v4. Will report back later.

edit: I want to get the Market working on v4 but I'm having a hard time with adb. I have it set up on Windows 7 but when I hit adb devices it says:

*daemon not running. starting it now on port 5037 *
CreateProcess failure, error 2
*failed to start daemon *
error: cannot connect to daemon

Version 04 HC lcd_density

Is there still a 160 limit on the lcd_density, or can it now be raised above 200?
Since some of us have old eyes.

Have HC v.4 running on my Nook. I know it has been asked, but I cannot find clear instructions on loading up the Market app for Mac. The instructions on Post #1 are for PC. You cannot run those commands via Terminal on Mac, or at least I cannot get them to run. Using the latest Android SDK, which includes a /platform-tools directory. Just point the way to clear instructions - I can figure the rest out myself.

Thanks

Help with Nook Color

Sorry to bother you. Not being the hacker type I am in a "need to know" position. I have downloaded the image (Nookhoney03.img.zip) and now have on my MacBook Desktop an icon labeled "Boot". This is alongside my "sdcard" icon. Now, how do I open a terminal window? and what exactly do you mean "find which drive the sd card is mapped to: ? I get lost at this point.I'm sure that once I get this far, I'll still be lost. Any help is muchly appreciated.

Thanks

UPDATE: I FOUND TERMINAL WINDOW! and the Sd Card comes up as disk#2. I type : diskutil unmountDisk/dev/disk#2
and get : diskutil: did not recognize verb "unmountDisk/dev/disk#2"; type "diskutil" for a list

What should I do here??????

My current nook is rooted. Do I need to do a full wipe on it before I try this? Or leave it but I will I lose root?

I'm going to do it either way, I just want to know what to expect.

Thanks.

You don't have to wipe. Just download and use Win32DiskImager and you are good to go. You won't lose root either on the internal installation.

Thanks Skylar....that worked. Now to figure out the rest.

I typed the dd if=..........etc and got back No such file or directory.

I successfully followed the instructions in post #1 on my Mac Mini this morning.

What sort of error messages are you seeing?

Google Calendar

Does anyone know how to get the google calendar app installed? It worked on the Nookie Froyo install to SD card but my Honeycomb 4 to sd card does not have the calendar app. Ideas?

"no such file or directory"

Yeah, I'm having the same problem. I've tried numerous times and with subtle and some not so subtle variations, such as extra spaces, no spaces, etc. but no luck. I know where the file is, seems terminal can't find it.
Any insights from those who have had success would be appreciated.
Using Mac.
Thanks

Has anyone had any luck running Citrix Receiver on this? I can log on, but get only our Apps and not Desktop. And I can't launch the Apps to top it off. Otherwise, ver 4 is a tremendous advancement over v3!

I still had the file name from v3 in that command - if you didn't realize to change it on your own, that would explain your problem. I edited OP with v4's file name.

I just want to thank everyone from the dev to those that were very patient and answered the trouble-shooting questions. I am not so young anymore :p, but with careful reading and application of the instructions and the problem solving suggestions, I have been able to run my NookColor off the sd card using Honeycomb and reclaim space from the fourth partition on the Sandisk 8gb card. :D No need now to run out and buy that 16gb card I was thinking about. I am very happy with the results and look forward to improvements and changes in the future. Imagine that, a tablet for $249.00 plus tax!!!!!!!
