Ok, I will use Dropbox. If I decide to install HC internally, will I be able to use the SD card to easily drop files into it?

Kingston 16gb class 4. I want to get a faster class, but I want to get this figured out first. While I am on that subject, is there a simple way to take an image of this card and use Winimage to burn that image onto a new card? Or do I have to start from scratch?

the faster the sd card is, the better performance you will get.

I haven't figure how burn the image from one sd card to the other sd card. I always star fresh and save the second on for a back just in case I mess up something I can go back to my old sd card.

Yes, you should be able to read the SD card in you install HC on your EMMC.
Making a USB ubuntu version is not complicated at all, you only need a 2gb usb stick.

I used Easeus running in Windows 7. It recognized all of the partions and I was able to expand the SDCARD partition to use all of the available space (Easeus showed it as free space).

Get rid of the kingston card...I just sent mine back to the manuf for a warranty replacement...it was incredibly slow and gave me error after error. I had the same exact card and it was junk..I'd be willing to bet the new one they sent will be too.. I have had fantastic luck with san disk class four... They are all I'm using now and work fine.

Kingston cards are junk - Incredibly SLOW. Ever since they shut down their Japan factory.
Almost any other mfg's card of the same class will out perform Kingston

I installed Honeycomb to my SDHC card, my Nook boots up fine into Android, and I have access to all the default stuff. I can connect to my wireless network and browse the Web. However, Windows 7 automatically installs my Nook as a device with the name Nook Color, so when I go to run the adb shell commands to install the Marketplace, I get "device not found" type errors.

What do I need to do to get ADB to recognize my Nook?

I installed the ADBWireless app and it always works, unlike the USB connection.

Open the device manager

Select the properties for Nook Color with the yellow "!"

click update driver, then search for the driver on your PC and point it to C:\android-sdk-windows or wherever you install the sdk, make sure subfolders is checked and it should start to install the correct driver.

Hi all. I'm in winimage and going through the steps but I get an erro message: Access Denied. What am I doing wrong? Originally I just extracted the image and put it on the SD card by using WinNar, but when I put it in my nook it didn't respond to it. So I downloaded winimage to try it that way and get access denied.

I was getting device not found. I rebooted my computer and nook and everything was good after that.

Also, i can't get anything from the android store to download. I'm starting to think its my actual device. I wasn't able to download apps when i was rooted, i couldn't do it in nookie froyo and i can't do it with HC.

Anyways, the workaround is to download from the amazon store. So far so good, the selection isn't as good, but at least its something...

Regarding repartitioning the microsd, once i try to browse to it in windows, it asks if i want to reformat it. I'm guessing NO. ANy other ideas for how to extend the partition using windows XP?

Formatting the sd card as FAT32 seems to have helped me. I'm at 5% (fingers crossed).

SD Card Problems

I just downloaded and flashed the Honeycomb rom on my 8gig sd card, it works in my nook. But now when I put the SD card into my laptop it say's that it needs to be formatted before it can be used. If I try and format it, it says that it can only format it to 117mb. Does anyone know what happened to my sd card? And will formatting it make the card only 117mb?

Android Marketplace on Nook Color, honeycomb on SD card

I followed the directions to root my nook color with honeycomb on an SD card and it works great! I am not able to get the Android Marketplace. I have downloaded and installed the first link - "this version of the Market (2.2.11) and have downloaded the GoogleServicesFramework.apk but it will not install. Also, I do not see any way to get to folders and command lines.
I am trying to get to my Nookbooks and library etc. without having to remove the SD card.
As you can tell I am NOT a programmer. Need help.

i have honeycomb running on my nook. this is an android question. is there a calendar i can bring up. i don't mean the google calendar app that track all my appts. just a simple calendar like when you double click the time in the task bar in windows.

tapping on the time doesn't do anything.

OK I try to "Restore virtual hard disk image" and all that gets put on the SD card is 6.37Mb of data....

What did I do wrong? Thanks for any help folks!
