Ok so I connect it the same time as it goes into emergency mode, installs drivers. What next? Btw I appreciate all the help thank you very much...
as long as the kdz tool is setup properly, ie per the FASTBOOT tut, and you have the right kdz file. then run it.
i know it works. so just play with it, change phone mode to emer, get diff kdz's. use the phoenix V20F kdz, i know its not the way you want to go, but it will give you a phone back. from a working phone you could then use the LGDMP.

Not to rub salt in your wounds, but I think you are screwed.
Form my own experience and others on this board, trying to flash the Phoenix kdz on your Thrive will either leave you permanently stuck in emergency mode or will brick it.
Your best bet is to try and return.

v10a is the only kdz on my comp, so im sure thats the one that fixed it. if your typin at me, though i have a phoenix.

What would be the kdz file for a thrive? Amd if none of that works my dad knows a guy at at&t and maybe he can maybe ask him for help. Thanks everyone btw.
there is no kdz for the thrive, try getting ur phone replaced cuz kdz will eventually brick your phone (which happened to my last thrive)
Im sorry but I don't agree with the assertion that flashing the thrive with anything other than the the thrive KDZ will brick the phone, I could be wrong though. But here is why I think that. Aside from color and the OS loaded on to the phone the Thrive and the Phoenix are clones. If you were like me at some point you may have soft bricked you're Phoenix if you have done so recently you can acutally flash to a ROM that is meant for the P505. But if you did it a few months back like me they had yet to release the flash so you had to play some tricks with the phone. In order to get the Pheonix back to life for me I had to tell it that the phone was actually from singapore and that it was a P500 or something (can't remember now) the phone booted but had the crazy colors you get when the video drivers are borked. I installed rom manager from there, installed CWM and then install a CM7 ROM with joban's #8 Kernel. Every thing worked just fine. I did have to go through some goofy steps to get there but it did work (read back). Like I said I may be wrong but logically it should work plus if your already to the point that your phone isnt working and your planning on trying to return it whats the harm in trying.
ok. this is a lot harder thzn i thought it would be and i dont want to try downloading CM7 because thats what got me here in the first place. also how would i make my computer think my phone is from Singapore? also there isn't a kdz file for thrive. i might as well just sell my xbox and buy a new phone...one that can actually download cm from the official webpage ad one that can actually run one of the top apps like temple run and modern combat 3... but thanks anyway i'll try to fix my phone with the signapore thing after the guy from at&t looked at it if he will and if it still doesnt work or it gets bricked completely o'll buy the motorola droid.
If you read back through the thread you will see what I did you will also see some very helpful links I suggest you read. 90% of all the issues that everyone has been asking about in the forums has already been answered somewhere but it does required reading. I have written several how-to on the basic stuff rooting, CWM and such. I suspect you tried to do something without reading up on what you were doing first. Research then act not the other way around.
Nice quote at the end. And yeah i didn't research which showed me that i should probably do. Well can you give me a few solutions links? Also the way my phone messed up was because i backed up my phone in ROM manager but i wamt to get a motorola droid. If amyone has a link of a cheap one on ebay (prefer buy it now) then pls share with me. Also if you have one that you sell maybe put it up on ebay or a reliable page and show me because my dad is very careful about a lot of things and will never let me buy one without a good chance that i wont get screwed over.

If you read back through this thread all the links you need are there. First couple pages I think. Most of us here have screwed our phone up at some point doing something we should have read up on better, myself included. So if your interested in getting the phone working again read through the links and the thread. If not best of luck with the new phone.
What does that mean? What exactly is wrong with your phone? Which phone do you have, anyway?mine doesn't find my phone need help asap
Where you talk about using the stock ROM. I have a lg optimus m 2.2 stock rom. Could I use my stock ROM to flash it instead of the ones you had listed at the bottom?
I believe you can use that Optimus M Rom as a starting point at least. Most likely the color will be all screwed up and you may or may not have the radios (ie you may not be able to call or use wifi) but it should get you could as I believe the M is mostly the same phone as the P505 and P506. Once you get the phone booting again root the phone the correct way (see my thread), install CWM and then pick the ROM of your choice or even go back to stock.
