(also why I always use a protective case on whatever device I own; to protect the resale value and cover the cost if I want the newest and latest device).

That's one approach. I myself prefer to avoid the expense and bulk of a cover. Instead, I protect the resale value by being careful not to drop or scratch the phone. So far, my last three phones have remained in like-new condition without any protective accessories.

I just called and asked and they gave it to me for 199. No arguing or threatening to leave. Just a civil conversation and I walked away happy.

I did the same thing but .............. I just called in and got my note 3 for $175 + $100 bill credit + waived upgrade fees + free overnight shipping.
(I just called them back an told the manager that they owe me a Galaxy Gear watch, it is now on the way).

Of course. But on average, the more careful you are, the less often they happen. If you break your phones infrequently enough, it costs less to replace them when they break than it would cost in the long run to get a case for each new phone (or to buy insurance). If you break your phones more often than once a decade, then yeah you probably need some kind of protection.

(I just called them back an told the manager that they owe me a Galaxy Gear watch, it is now on the way).

so for $75 you got the note 3 and gear? order form for proof?

Wow and I thought I did ok. I had 6 months to go on my contract they went ahead and did it with a $25 credit to help with the renewal fee of $35. So $225 for the phone. Not bad. Getting used to it as came from HTC everything in my house.

Damnn. I should've asked for gear. Btw, they don't waive the fees anymore thats a new rule, I'm not sure how you got fees waived.

It's NOT a new rule !!! (that's just bs ur rep told you).

Call back and at least get your Gear !!!
If you purchased a S3, S4, N2, or N3 with a new 2yr contract, then you are ENTITLED to it, (put your foot down dammit) demand it !!!

Make sure you ask for the "retention dept" tell them you want to send the N3 back cause your rep cheated you out of your promotion, (I guarantee you'll get the Gear for free).

Paravoz, provided his screenshot and using it I was able to get a substantial discount off my phones, very helpful! Thanks to Paravoz!

I will say the retention department was very reluctant to go to the level Paravoz got. This is why I am skeptical that you not only got the phone for cheaper, just $75! But you didn't pay an upgrade fee and you got a free gear. If you are telling the truth post the shot and help others to get the deal you got. Otherwise admit that you are lying. I don't see how this is trolling, I do however find your use of profanity to be offensive and indicative of poor character.

I've been on the phone with Att for an hour they told me that there is no way you can get a galaxy gear because it is a separate accessory that cost 300$. Thanks for reporting back. It is not fun wrangling with them. You saved me the trouble of trying, and I would have felt obligated to do it for the potential resale profits, on my two note 3s would have gotten two gears, good for almost $600 probably on ebay.

1st off, Paravoz has a BUSUNESS account, only reason he got N3 for $100 (which he still hasn't admitted), that is why no waived upgrade and no gear for him!



I actually e-mailed a supervisor in retention Paravoz' screen shot to ATT to show them he only paid $100 bucks.
That's when he informed me that Paravoz has a "business" account.
He did then give me an additional $50 instant discount, and then he ordered me up a FREE watch.
So if I keep the watch, I am only out $75 bucks for the new N3.
If I sell the watch on Craig's List for $225, I come up $150 ahead .

So Bill, what was your "substantial discount"?
You have yet to share with any of us what you paid!

post the shot and help others to get the deal you got. otherwise admit that you are lying.

They wont give you a dime off the price of any product.

They will give you a credit on your next months bill. And depending on how much complaining about stuff you do is how much credit they will give you.

I was told they dont waive upgrade fees of the 36 anymore...however if you get the right person they will credit it.
I also told them that best buy has the note 3 for 199. they gave me a 90 credit on my next bill. so....
