[HOW-TO] Install Official CM7 Release (Gingerbread) to Internal Memory (eMMC)

Is anyone having problems with Email syncing (via Exchange)? I have it set to push but no go. Even when I manual sync, no activity. Every once in a while it will update...but have not been able to determine a pattern.

Use the Clockwork image and follow the instructions in the OP. While you're at it get Clockwork 3.0.1.0 from the link in my OP, there is a flashable ZIP that will put clockwork on your internal memory so you don't have to use the memory card to update or flash stuff.

Kazy: Thanks for your help. I did check the link and looks very helpful. The only thing is that is starts with 3 steps that are not explained (including boot into recovery mode). The other thing is that it requires you to link off to other pages to find specific directions for specific steps. This includes the SD card flashing process (which I did with autonooter, but would have to dig up the directions to do again).

I did the autonooter root ok, but I don't do this everyday. If your instructions included the stuff about starting from the very beginning (ie, rooted), I would be grateful. I am not a computer or mobile device newbie, but I am a unix/command line/rooting newbie.

Thanks,

aviduser

What is an "OP", and where do I find it?

Worked like a champ. Just did two of them in my office this afternoon. Took longer to download the files then to install on the Nooks...

download question for first step

(Download the file that corresponds to the size of your microSD card here. Unzip this file to your desktop)

What am I downloading here? The rest of the instructions look easy, but I am no sure what I am downloading in this first step?

Just installed CM7 onto what was a rooted NC running 1.0.1. Everything went smooth. The only deviation was that I had to pull out my SD card after burning clockworkmod.img, then push it back in, THEN I could copy the ZIP files to the card. I then placed the SD card into the NC and followed the instructions. It was a piece of cake, went like clockwork. I salute everyone who participated. This NC is a much nicer device now that it is running 2.3.3. Thanks all!!!

Hey Everyone....I'm stuck. Originally had a rooted Nook then followed the instructions in the OP step by step. Install was smooth. Now...when I boot up the Nook I see the Cyanogen 7 Animation and it just stays there...little blue arrow going round and round and round......and round....and round....

I have done all of the steps but when I BOOT up everything goes ok until I go to install the the zips and I get a message

E:Can't open /sdcard/cm_encore_full-38.zip
(bad)
Installation aborted
E:can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E:can't open /cache/recovery/log

I have the same problem as groides. Because Muffinworld was down, I wasn't able to download the clockworkmod file. Couldn't locate it else where. I am not sure if that would make a difference. I started with an unrooted 1.0.1 original NC install, registered. Any words of wisdom?
