[HOW-TO] Install Official CM7 Release (Gingerbread) to Internal Memory (eMMC)

OK, dumbass, the update for CM7 was automatic.

For anyone else who wondered how to do the update, just click on the update icon (I have the prefs for notify of updates turned on) and it will prompt you to download and run the update just like stock Android.

Thanks for making the updates easy Cyanogen!

BTW, still loving CM7 on my Nook Color. It makes it a real tablet, improves every function, including the touchscreen.

I installed the newest version of CM7 a few days ago and everything works great with the exception of my Wifi sites disappearing once in a while. Last night it shut down while I was reading with about 15% left on the battery. I then plugged it in for a couple of hours. When I try to restart it gets to the cyanogenmod screen then reboots itself and repeats. Any ideas?

I have found wifi to be really unreliable in the latest CM7 nightlies and stable.
used to be much better.

This just happened to me last night as well. does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks!!

Edit: After some more charging, it made it to the lock screen then reset. Does this have anything to do with low battery power?

I don't know why I waited so long to try this. Probably because playing with my new atrix was so fun. Regardless, this was the best ROM I've seen for the nook. It feels like a real tablet.

Boot to Recovery impossible after 1.2 install

I installed the 1.2 stock code from Barnes and Noble and now I cannot boot to recovery mode. This means I cannot do most of the things here nay more. I can still use the SD I made while still on the 1.1 button recovery mode so no update Nobody seems to know the answer to this as I have asked in multiple Forums and nothing. :(

Yes I know how to do the recovery boot. I had to do all of this to create the first CM7 SD card but impossible to do it now.

Just Installed CM7 on my ColorNook after last weeks BN's BS reset! So far so good, none of the wifi issues mentioned here, actually my wifi improved!

Will recommend this to all my rooted Nook buddies!

Thanks all for posts here!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE SOMEONE, How do I get the recovery mode to work. The Power and N Key hold that boots to install updates. Mine will to do it no matter what I try. This is ONLY after install of 1.2 code from BN.

BN support answer works.
From powered on Press N and hold and then power. Ignote power off prompt and after read forever prompt goes and turns black let go. It will comr up with factoru trsry prompt. VAUTION if you accrpt it you lose all, of yout books anf must download them again.

did that and mine wont boot to recovery as well. Now if i use my recovery sd card im fine but i have flashed the cwm a couple times and whenever i try and hit reboot recovery in rom manager or anything for that matter i just boots back up normally.

maybe im extremely misreading something.... but i've spent a long time struggling with this.... after i use win32 to write the image onto the sd card, windows wont let me copy the remaining files onto the card because its not formatted correctly. but formatting it will erase the image? what am i doing wrong?

Copy them to the boot partition. That one should be active windows available FAT or FAT32 , I do not remember which but both can be seen by windows.

As for BOOT to Rwecovery, not sure if this is what we are all looking for but to get to factory after 1.2

1.Be in a normal reading mode.
2.Hold n (Upside down horseshoe on bottom) and right away after that push a nd also hold pwoer button.
3.Wait until you see Power off prompt but just continue to hold it.
4.You will see Read Forever which will after a number of seconds disappear and go black screen.
5.Release both buttons and in a few seconds the prompt for Factory Reset Will come up.

DO NOT ACCEPT THIS unless you want ALL of your books to be deleted. You would have to down load them again although will not have to pay for them again.

I am not sure if this is the recovery mode method when you are creating a CM on card or MMC as I do not remember it going to factory mode when I followed the instructions.

AS FOR ME, I WILL WAIT UNTIL SOMEONE HAS DONE AND TESTED AND POSTS THE WAY TO DO THESE THINGS WHEN YOU HAVE 1.2 BN INSTALLED.

In case you brick your device go here.

I had this problem using a PC running XP, then I tried my laptop running Windows 7 and it wrote the files to the SD card after I wrote the first image w/no problems! Now I just use my laptop for this stuff!

I have also put the files on a different SD card, once you boot w/clockwork you can remove that SD and install files from a different SD

have 2 questions on this version - I installed CyanogenMod 7.0.2

1st - Is there a way to get a black background when I open the "My Apps" it was black on my rooted stock B&N version... I use Nat Geo Daily wallpaper and sometimes it's difficult to see the apps well with the lighter backgrounds.

2nd - I watched a video using TV Shows Stream, I can't get the program to CLOSE! If I press the "N" button it goes to home screen but video continues to play. Any suggestions on how to stop that program. If I go in to Applications and look at programs running that program isn't listed... Is there a Task Manager I could use just to close that app?

Please help! I followed the instructions but cannot get my NC to boot into CM7. When I turn it on, I get the "Touch the future of reading" screen, and then the screen goes black. After a few seconds, it will flash white once and then return to black. I can boot into ClockworkMod Recovery, but I don't know what to do. Can I just try the install process again? Do I need to wipe the device first or return it to stock? Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated!

Edit: I've found that the device keeps rebooting, even after I turn it off, so the screen just stays on.
