How to keep phone protected in extreme heat or cold?

Like if you have to take phone with you when temperatures outside are very high or low. I know those temps can be very bad for battery or phone itself. What do y'all do to keep it protected? There's a case out there called Salt Cases which is supposed to be thermal protection for phones. Anyone try this? Thanks!

Keeping it out of direct sunlight would be necessary. Holding it near your body would work with cold. It it was hot enough outside to harm the phone I would be much more concerned about myself. A case like that might be necessary in the Sahara, but its expensive.

If it's raining, I'll sometimes wrap my phone up in one of my socks and put it in the middle of my purse to keep it protected in case of any water coming through my bag. If it's direct sunlight, I never keep it out where the sun will bake it. And when it's super cold, I usually keep it in my purse and don't use it outside unless it's absolutely necessary. So basically, to summarize, my purse is my protector.

When driving, my phone is mounted on the windshield in direct hot summer sunlight... running navigation with bright screen, discretely recording video (no sound) and constantly listening for my custom voice commands (no ok Google keyword needed).... overclocked slightly and no undervolt... so without heat protection my device will overheat quickly. I run the air conditioner and blow it out the dehumidifier vents so it hits my windshield mounted s8+. That works nicely. If my car didn't have a/c then I wouldn't able to use my phone like that.

When hunting in extreme cold temperatures for 14 hours a day in December and January I need to keep my phone in a pocket close to my body and/or with a chemical handwarmer. Otherwise my battery drains even if off.

I've been consistently touting the leather Samsung folio/wallet. I'm speculating but I suspect it provides better than average protection against temperature extremes.

You're more likely to run into over heating than freezing. However, the phone has a warning and an auto shutdown if it gets too hot. If you're charging it and it starts getting hot, the phone will warn you and stop charging.

Cold weather is less of a problem. Unless you're going to be in below freezing environments for extended periods of time without any way to keep warm, it should be fine. I'd bet that you would be seeking shelter before the phone would stop working.

I usually take my phones skiing with me. I like to use a pouch with the phone kept inside my jacket next to my chest. Battery temp usually drops to 50 or so. Never really had an issue. On really cold days (or nights) I power the phone off.

What about using phone Mount vent clips, where you would have cold AC air blowing on the back, you think that would be an issue with temp or moisture forming on it?

The phone itself is in an Otterbox, and then in it's in a leather case/pouch thing. I keep that on me and no issues. It's when I left them in the car is where I found issues.

I actually do that. It gets too hot in the window mount because of direct sunlight. So far no problems. Most car A/Cs don't get colder than 65 F.

Year round protector = my pockets wether it's -40 celcius or +40 (i'm in canada so convert this if you want to), never had a single issue with any phone. A heat case reminds me of a "bend proof" case i saw for the iphone 6 back when they had the so called "bendgate" it's just a pr stunt nothing more, if the temp is harsh enough for your phone be concerned about yourself first lol.

Can you shield it with reflector foil so it only gives shade to phone without blocking your view?
