I have an unrooted NC with 1.1.0 on it that I want to root. From what I understand, I need to follow the instructions in this OP to get it back to 1.0.1 so I can root, correct?
Ok, assuming that is correct, I started following these instructions on my PC. I downloaded the
CWM image and used
Win32DiskImager to burn it to my 8GB SD card. I then downloaded the
stock 1.0.1 restore file, and tried to copy it to my SD card, but it said I didn't have enough room.
So it looks like the CWM image is only 128MB, so that's how "big" it made my SD card. That makes sense. I then found in the forums that I need to run
EASEUS to expand that partition on my SD card. I download EASEUS and follow the instructions laid out in the
Nookie Tips thread. This is where I run into a roadblock.
EASEUS won't let me resize my SD card. When I click on my C: drive, the Resize button is enabled and I could change the size of my C: partition if I wanted to, but when I click on my F: drive (the SD card), I can see it's only 128MB, that there is 7+GB of unallocated space, but the Resize button is then disabled.
Anyone else run into this problem before? Any ideas how to debug or fix this?
Thanks.
Tim
[Edit] I followed timmyjoe42's advice below and just did CWR first, then popped out the SD card, formatted it on my PC, copied the restore zip to the SD card, then put it back into the NC and installed the restore zip from there (and then, on to the auto-nooter). Thanks timmyjoe42!
