[HOW TO] Return to Stock for Froyo Update

This is good, only problem is that the main forum page points everyone to this other post with instructions to revert back. The difference is that it's flashing D101 instead of DL09. Is that a non-issue?

both of them flash DI01, where are you getting DL09 from

Sorry, I was looking at your screenshots of ODIN, they show you grabbing DL09.tar.

that was just an example, it says it at the top of that post.

and i saw you posted in adrynalynes post... both are fine, my thread will just take a bit longer as you have to wait for over the air update.,,, his method will just take a little more downloading and flashing it will be quicker his way

Gotcha! THANKS! both are pretty much the bees knees! :)
I used yours, did a manual check for the update and it showed up last night around 9pm.

A couple questions.. I plan on flashing back to stock this evening and installing the official ED01. I need better battery life than I'm getting from EB01.

1. I guess this should be obvious, but when I flash back to stock will my phone still be rooted? I'm guessing not..

2. I have Titanium backup on my phone. Can I use it to back everything up and then restore after getting ED01? Or will Titanium no longer function because I'm no longer rooted? I was thinking of not rooting my phone again after the official update but I suppose I could.

Thanks!

It will be like a brand new phone, so no it will not have root

you will be able to use the back up but you will have to root

benefits of the official rom

complete noob her but curious. im running sc 292 with the updated radio and the fone has been running well. why would i want to revert back to stock to get the official release with all its bloat when with all the artists that work on roms will customize it soon so that i can just flash the custom rom over what i have.

Curiosity maybe, ?.... if you are happy then leave it, if its not broke dont fix it , is the phrase.

I concur. These guys are the best! I am going to wait. Some of these guys should be Working for Google. Or running customer assistance at VZW (corporate not some little crappy store)

I agree.. I've also been reading the "issues" thread for those who have installed ED01 and there are plenty of bugs out there. SMS popup not working properly, poor battery life, etc. If the battery life in ED01 is bad then I might as well keep what I've got and wait to flash something bloat free that won't wipe my phone.

I will give it a few days and see what the awesome geniuses in this forum come up with. I know I won't be disappointed.

I flashed back to stock using ODIN, it took me back to Hardware I500.04, Firmware 2.1-Update 1, Baseband S:I500.004V.DI01, Kernel 2.6.29. Everytime I go to try to get the new update, it tells me there's no new software available. Can someone tell me what's wrong or how I can fix this?

Did you read adrynalines thread of going to ed01 officially?

If not please read.

I'm trying to flash this update and everything I try just gets stuck at the MOVINAND.bin file. It is my wife's fascinate that was all stock-no root and she dropped it in some water. I'm getting to the Download screen fine and have actually gotten it to fire back up with one version of EB01. The problem then was that the Internal Memory would only read 0.0b, which appears to have something to do with a bad Voodoo uninstall, perhaps coming from a previous attempt at a new ROM. Any idea how to get an install to complete past the MOVINAND.bin file or what to do to restore internal memory if I go back to flashing EB01.

I keep getting "device driver Software was not successfully installed" after I go into target and both of my pcs will not recognize my phone.

I have downloaded the samsung drivers. I can't figure out what the problem is.

You may of installed the wrong one.. you need the specific drivers for your windows type either 64 bit or 32 bit... if that's not the issue it could be that the file did not download properly in which case redownload. But most likely you just need to make sure you're downloading the right one for your computer.

Yeah, I downloaded the one for my 64 bit machine. I'll try to redownload

Alright, once you know for sure you have the right download installed, the next question would be, are you using the original usb cable that came with the phone aka OEM USB cable? It's reccommended that you use a usb port in the back of the computer as well. Just trying to troubleshoot some common problems. Let me know if that works for you.

Thanks for the walk through. If I am running a voodoo kernal, do I have to disable lagfix before I Odin back to stock or does Odin over-write everything?

If you're returning to stock just be sure to use a package that wipes data etc. Then you will not need to worry about disabling or removing anything as it will ALL be gone when you flash.
