[How-to] Revert to LS670V9, after installing OTA LS670VC/VD, using KP500 (Diag mode)

Re: [How-to] Revert to LS670V9, after installing OTA LS670VC/VD,

I think you have the new LCD. You should revert to LS670ZVD. Can you still do that?

Doesn't look like it. Phone doesn't boot up now and is not recognized by PC to do anything else.

Can you boot into recovery?

Pull USB cable, remove cover/battery, wait 5 seconds, replace battery/cover, simultaneously press and hold [Power][Vol Dwn][Home] until Recover shows up, release buttons, replace USB cable.

Re: [How-to] Revert to LS670V9, after installing OTA LS670VC/VD,

I tried it I followed step-by-step, but after step p) my phone rebooted and is now stuck on the Android screen, its been there for 3 hours now, Help please!!

update: I read some of the posts and I can boot into recovery. Should i pull the sdcard and load an update.zip onto it? and if so what should it be? or should i do the factory reset?

Update 2: I tried to factory reset, but it just wiped data, but it booted to android, I just get the spring ID screen, and can't do anything. My phone is about a year old, it was rooted, and my wife accepted an OTA update, and lost root. I'm trying to get it rerooted and fixed so it can work. I can boot into recovery it says "Android system recovery <3e>" the only other thing I can do is reboot, install update.zip, and wipe data/cache.
I tried to rerun the KP500 and got the fatal error message" Here is the log...

Re: [How-to] Revert to LS670V9, after installing OTA LS670VC/VD,

I downloaded the LG Mobile Support tool but it doesn't show the LS670 under the Sprint option. I also downloaded the drivers manually and when I point Windows to them it doesn't work. What do I do?

Re: [How-to] Revert to LS670V9, after installing OTA LS670VC/VD,

OK guys, I need help. Followed instructions everything was going good until i used the lg updater to revert back to v9. I am using screencast because of the newer lcd but since i ran the lg updater the phone doesnt do anything. Screencast cant even pull it up anymore. Please HELP me I cant afford to buy a new phone. My mistake was updating to that POS zvh. It caused hypersesitive touch screen and I was unable to do anything because touching once caused multiple touch sensations. LS670 BRICKED!

The LS670 drivers are available here:
http://www.lg.com/us/support/mc-support/drivers/LGLS670.zip

Install all three of the drivers.

You only need to install LG Mobile Support tool, you don't need to run it directly. The Mobile Support Tool is available here:

To get past the Sprint ID screen, you just need to let Hand Free Activation finish and choose a Sprint ID. If you don't want to do that or don't have a data connection, you can just press the Voice Command button on the side of the phone, aboe the camera button, then say "Settings" or "Wifi settings"

First thing you should do is turn on USB debugging.

Then you can use root using the appropriate instructions for the version of Android you installed (ZV9 or ZVD)

If you have the new LCD, you should revert to VD. Boot into Recovery by removing USB cable, pulling battery/cover, wait for 5 seconds, replace battery/cover, simultaneously press and hold [Power][Vol Dwn][Menu] until Recovery comes up (will be blank screen for you), then use KP500 to flash the VD cab file instead of V9.

Re: [How-to] Revert to LS670V9, after installing OTA LS670VC/VD,

ok well when I have to enter the file name do I format it as the same as the ls670zv9_20 (ls670zvd_20)?

Just use all the replacement steps listed in the reference section:

Substitute these steps to Force Flash VD
f) download VD cab (LS670ZVD_12.SD_12.P60675.cab) (Alternate download)
h) ren LS670ZVD_12.SD_12.P60675.cab LS670ZVD.cab
i) expected checksum - 6bd5faf21acb951abb7e2c6e8ce39e7d *LS670ZVD.cab
n) cab file - LS670ZVD.cab
o) version - LS670ZVD_12

Re: [How-to] Revert to LS670V9, after installing OTA LS670VC/VD,

Ok so I got it up and running with the vd now how would I go about getting root access and maybe a custom rom? I liked GB but it caused hypersensitive screen issues. Anything you can recomend to use that doesnt take up tons of space. These things arent that great on space.

In the beginning of the how to root zvh post, there are links to 2 methods to root ZVD. just choose which one you prefer. The first one (gingerkernel) is more of a one-click I don't want to know what is going on solution.

What happens when you connect the phone to your PC and type "adb devices" in a command prompt open to your adb tools directory?

I believe all you really have right now is V9 recovery and V9 android on a new LCD phone. Everything is probably running find, you just can't see anything on the screen. If this is the case, it can be recovered from, just don't get anxious and do anything crazy w/o being instructed to do so.

Here's what's displayed:

Your PC can communicate with your phone. This is good. Just run KP500 substituting the VD cab file (in the reference section). Your phone should be booted into recovery when you run KP500. This will put VD android on your phone and when you boot into Android, you'll see stuff on the screen again.

If your end goal is gROM, make sure after you get VD android on your phone, you root VD android and put V9 stock recovery on your phone. Don't assume it'll still be there because it is there now. There's a good chance it will, but it might not, and you don't want to go through the downgrade again just to skip a 3 minute step.

I have applied vd and have screen display (YES!) but comes to android system recovery <3e> with an error Finding update package...

E: can't find command file CACHE: recovery/command
Installation aborted. no valid image in cache.
