I just don't know enough and afraid to brick, you know.

no worries, just follow my directions and you will be fine, if by chance you go into brick, which i dont see how, you just use odin to get it to stock. all you need to do is follow my directions most of it is copy, then right click and paste so it will be difficult to mess up the commands

do not touch your phone after you unlock it when it reboots, see if that helps. i just left the clouds from BW drifting across the screen and it worked perfectly. I was touching the screen to make them go away. Who knows maybe it makes a difference!

Trust me i put in many wrong commands , the only time i had a problem was when i touched my phone to early and it locked up, all i did was pull the battery and we were back to good

Try what bmidd suggested above, if you want to take a last ditch effort at it

That's it I am done. I will try again tonight at home.

If using one click method please note the following as it worked for my phone.

edit the start_root.bat

modify the line: call PMSLEEP 60

to: call PMSLEEP 100

Also when the phone reboots during the first step unplug it wait until android boots back up then plug your usb back in so that you can force the ability to mount the sdcard.

What was happening in my case was the batch file was calling the pmsleep.bat file to quickly before my phone was totally booted up.

Hope this helps for those having problems.
Mdionis, you are a genius.
Thank you!

I've got a quick question for those who couldn't get z4root to work. What did it do after you ran the program? For me it gets to the part where it's acquiring root shell, then after maybe a minute the program just seems to quit on it's on. I check and there is no superuser, so I assume it didn't work.

Same here, it didnt work

thats when i did the third method in the OP

I'll try Dirrk's method next, worked once before when z4root wouldn't work for me. I'll do it the hard way if I have to, but I'd rather not have to.

Alright, the modified 1 click method worked. Wasn't sure for a second since it was taking a while, but I've got superuser.

If Z4root doesn't work, do I have to keep going, or can I stop and stay stock?

I'm sorry, i dont understand? if you choose not to root and stay stock, of course you dont have to keep going

Meaning if I try Z4root and it fails, does the fail leave me in a twilight zone where my phone won't work right until I complete the root with either method 2 or 3? Or does it just fail and not change anything?
