How to root DL09

there is a button at the top of the screen says mount r/w , hit that,,,if it doesnt work, uninstalll and reinstall root explorer

Alright I found a link on here to download Blackhole 3.0, couldn't find it on androiddoes, but that's where the link goes, so that's kinda weird. Now i'll try it through CWM directly.

edit- I see what you mean now, the roms are stored in the clockworkmod folder. I just did it from there once I realized that. Seems to have worked.

Well I thought it had worked, but now when the phone reboots It just vibrates for maybe half a second, and the backlight comes on and won't go off. I can't get into the phone at all. Tried a battery pull but it's the same thing after it reboots.

how long are you waiting before you battery pull?

some roms remove the boot animation, so it looks like your phone is bricked but its actually loading up

I waited a few minutes, you're right about the boot animation though. I'll give it a good five minutes and see what happens.

Finally rooted....I had to get temporary root and remove superuser and then follow the instructions....Re-rooted and Re-Debinged....Love my Fascinate! Did anyone notice Flash player 1.0 in Titanium backup?

I posted this in the original "how to root" thread, but thought it might do some good here too. Hope that's OK...

I finally got DL09 to root. I tried z4, one-click, manual. Finally using the files in FascinateRoot_v02 and the instructions from XDA (here xda-developers - View Single Post - Rooted )...it worked.

The key for me was where the instructions say "wait...", I had to wait ~30-40 minutes. I read another forum member had to wait 50 minutes. In one of the original sets of instructions (I forget which) it tells you to wait 3 minutes, and kill the process if it's not done in 5 minutes. So if you get to that point and it looks like it's just sitting...don't give up! Let it sit for a good long while.

Ok folks, I think I got this figured out. Using One Click FascinateRoot_vo2.zip (the new one in the op). I ran the "start root" and was getting the same error that everyone else was getting. To get it to work I ran the same "start root" and when it powered off I unplugged my usb cable and waited for it to boot up, I unlocked the screen, plugged it in and let it sit. Boom! Done! Hope it helps. Do this at your own risk.... Worked for me!

This worked for me also. I noticed a new option for stopping media scan, after the update, while plugged in. Unplugging seemed to stop this.

i'm very limited on using a computer and have never rooted my phone or even tried.i read up on it a little bit and sorry i don't understand some of it.can someone please give me the right link or instructions on rooting my fascinate dl09.

I did it a few different ways, I can't remember in detail how I did it each time. The last time I tried I did it as bare bones as I could, anything I could leave out I did, and left everything stock that I could. I actually got it semi working last night, after wiping data a few times. I got it to install, but it had too many glitches to make it useable. Just as an example, every time I tried to re-sync my contacts the phone would freeze, the boot animation would play, and I'd be back at my home screen. No force close, it just would freeze completely.

I was running blackhole for DI01 before and never had any trouble, don't know what is up with 3.0, or it's something with my phone for that matter.

edit- Don't know why this would interfere with it, but I'm using Adrynalyne's DL09 Kernel.
