Hmm, I've tried to install the latest blackhole DL09 rom and CWM seems to be stuck at "finding update package". Guess something had to really go wrong, now to fix this...

You flashed the Odin CWM file? also try redownloading blackhole DL09...and did you try to install rom directly from the rom manager menu or did you do it manually from the green clockwork recovery screen?

Yeah I flashed CWM through Odin. Installing Adrynalyne's kernel went fine. Then after that I decided to install Blackhole and CWM seems to be stuck. And yes, I did it from within rom manager.

Doing one-click method, do I download all the files to my pc, hookup the phone, and then run the "Start Root"?

Go download titanium back up , when you open it at the bottom it says "problems" hit that button update busybox

next thing dont install from rom manager, reboot into recover, then go to the green recovery screen and install zip from SD card from there.

download them, extract the files from the zip...open the folder,, put your phone in debugging mode. then wait a minute for it to connect. then hit start root

After several failed attempts I think the key for me was to make sure I extracted the zip file to c:\. When I first extracted the files it created an extra folder off of C:\ so my file path looked like this C:\FascinateRoot_v02\FascinateRoot_v02. When I moved all of the files into the first folder everything executed as expected. Thanks.

glad that worked for you,,,,,i hate when little things like that hold you up

Danny, I want you to be aware that I have run into a bug with your method. It seems as though if you don't disable debugging mode quickly enough after the root has been achieved, you will be stuck in an endless cycle of the phone resetting. I've just been able to reproduce it like 3 times.

Thats strange because i have done it twice, once with the odin flash , i didnt hit that problem

then again after the OTA.. neither time did i have that issue

One click worked! $hit, i never thought I would root. Thanks DroidXcon. If you hadn't explained the stuff to me, I wouldn't have done it. Thanks Dirk as well, for writing the exploit. Titanium Backup here I come to freeze the bloat!!!!!

I was able to root with One Click, on DL09. debloted , debinged and lagfix with OCLF 2.0 all within 3 hours last night.... and it was my first time ever! quadrant score is 2167! this fascinate is screaming fast.. I'm so glad I jumped off the BlackBerry ship... a sinking ship I might add.

Ok folks, I think I got this figured out. Using One Click FascinateRoot_vo2.zip (the new one in the op). I ran the "start root" and was getting the same error that everyone else was getting. To get it to work I ran the same "start root" and when it powered off I unplugged my usb cable and waited for it to boot up, I unlocked the screen, plugged it in and let it sit. Boom! Done! Hope it helps. Do this at your own risk.... Worked for me!

Dan

Was in the process of doing this when I realized that Blackhole 3.0 doesn't seem to be up for download, rather he just has everyone go through rom manager.

cant you just go into clockwork and move it out of the file?

I'm not really sure what you mean. I was going to simply download the file ,transfer it to my phone, and have CWM install the zip from there. Then I realized he doesn't have it uploaded anywhere. I don't see any other way of doing it from within CWM itself.

Now I cannot debloat the phone though. I have Root explorer, but I keep getting read only error. Do I need to do anything else right?

there is a button at the top of the screen says mount r/w , hit that,,,if it doesnt work, uninstalll and reinstall root explorer
