i am sure there will be another root very soon. i just rooted last night and was happy with it because i got the free wireless teathering and just when i flashed the dl09 build the offical OTA update came out so i had to go back to stock and download the offical one and can not root anymore. but the GPS is great pinpoints me right to my house even inside now within like 10 secs but when i dock it it does not stay locked

tried unrooting to get the update that just came out and when i did this step..

rm /system/bin/su
rm /system/bin/busybox

It said no such file or directory. I have all of the drivers installed (this is the same computer i rooted with) and used v02 to root.

did you uninstall the old root before the update if not you need to do that, cause it looks like you didnt. Then reinstall root again and it will work, just make sure you have the temp root access you need to install root.

my phone is rooted again thanks to eveyone for working on so fast and i got the wireless teathring back main reason why i rooted

the update came overnight and i guess in my sleep I restarted it cause i woke up to an error saying the previous update failed to complete. I tried to remove root and got that error. I am ging to try to use odin and go back to stock w/bloatware

Root is not whats stopping you , not having the bloatware inplace is whats holding you up

crap.... I still have the files, just renamed them to .bak, but I don't know what the original name of them was. I changed bing, dlna, vcastvideo, skype, blockbusterkindle, vnav, and vcast music. I couldn't find the original names of the apk's to put them back. I can't get odin either, all the links to it are broken

Finally got the ota di09 rooted. I had installed the z4root previously which left a copy of su in /system/bin which needed to be removed. I used these instructions xda-developers - View Single Post - Rooted with the oneclick files and did a chmod 06755 /system/xbin/su . Not sure the chmod was needed but everything is working so I just left it.

I keep getting the Install failed already exists error. I tried the oneclick method first then the cmd version.

did you test your permissions with titanium back up?
that just means you have super user app already installed

Yes. All I've done is the ota update and then tried to reroot it. The Superuser app still shows green dots next to ROM manager and Titanium backup.

Did you try the unroot commands for good measure?
