~Attached are the newest DL link for the RUU's, choose by version accordingly.
If you use the newest RUU, you will have to use the newest rooting methods as well.~
Liquid,
First thank you so much for all the work you do, guides, and assistance you give. There are a couple of changes to the RUU links and operation. Also here is a way to help someone who will is removing root.
The RUU listing is now at:
http://shipped-roms.com/index.php?category=android&model=Supersonic.
By chagning to this wording and link, you do not have to keep updating the link:
C. The
RUU (The top one is typically the most recent.)
Next, the backup and restore instructions do not work for someone who is having second thoughts about rooting.
~Optional~
D. If you would like to keep some of your settings, data and apps, Install "Titanium Backup ".
Select the apps/data you would like to back up. Back it up. ( We will return to this later.)
A couple of downsides to Titanium Backup are that:
1. They may try to restore root and fail and Titanium Backup will not work.
2. If they are,"having second thoughts", they won't be able to restore with Titanium Backup withour root.
3.
Titanium Backup needs the $6
Pro Key and
BusyBox and solid skills
4. Other apps like
MyBackup Pro ($5) do everything automatically, without root and without
Can we suggest
MyBackup Pro to backup All Apps, All Contacts, Call logs, Bookmarks, Texts, Calendar, System Settings, Home Screens, Alarms, Dictionary, and Playlists? It does not requrie root on the old or new phone. I have detailed instructions for
Backup, Restore or Transfer Your Android Device in the
Getting Started.
So would you consider changing part D to:
D.
Your data and settings will be lost. Backup everything now. See the
Backup, Restore or Transfer Your Android Device in the
Android Getting Started for instructions. This way you can keep All Apps, All Contacts, Call logs, Bookmarks, Texts, Calendar, System Settings, Home Screens, Alarms, Dictionary, and Playlists.
For the next part, it no longer works if you follow the instructions in step 5. You connet the phone when it says and just at the normal home screen
5. With the phone connected via usb, Power off the phone. Hold the volume down rocker, and the power button. Stop at the skateboarding androids and proceed to step...
6 5. Run the RUU, Reed all the text in the window. Then accept and press next.
7 6.. This brings us to your next screen bellow. Just hit next. DON'T TOUCH YOUR PHONE!!!!!
7 6. Turn on your phone and connect it to your phone using the USB cable (Just Charging). Make sure ti have at least 30% battery left.
7. Disable standby and hybernation on your PC. and check "I have completed the steps..." DON'T TOUCH YOUR PHONE!!!!!
Under Restoring, they do not have to root the new device to restore data and setting now!
I. Re-Root your device. No longer needed!
Could it now be:
1. Your phone will now restart. Enter your Google account info, and follow the prompts. Delete all widgets and icons on your home screen so your old layout can be replaced.
2. Install
MyBackup Pro and follow the instruction in the
Backup, Restore or Transfer Your Android Device. If you rooted, you can also use Titanium Backup batch mode to restore apps, data, or apps + data.
IV. Uninstall the the two applications above.
You are back to stock, with most of your stuff.
