How to Voodoo ***Updated 27 Mar 2011***KERNEL BUILT FROM SOURCE/SOUND/UNDERVOLTED

Thanks for the info Mike. I am now rooted, themed, and voodooed without a brick. I was sort of looking forward to screwing up my phone so I could learn to work through the problems. I can never leave anything alone so I am sure I will asking for help before too long.

lol. if could give yousome pointers if you want.

So now I have several themes flashed, rooted the phone and converted to voodoo what do I do to increase my expertise at working the fascinate over?

hey mike i was looking at your second post, and you mention that if flashing another voodoo kernel there is no need to disable the lagfix. I understand that part, but if flashing another voodoo kernel, cant we just flash it like a normal kernel and then reboot?

Yep, flash voodoo over voodoo all you like. Never hurts to clear the cache/dalvik though.

Always remember though, nonvoodoo over voodoo = doodoo

Keep reading the forums looking at others issues to learn / understand more and backup your stuff and flash other kernel / ROM combos.

You could sneak over to XDA and grab one of the new kernels like the 1200OC UV one and flash that bad boy. I just did and so far it is running great.

If you get really bored flash non-voodoo over your current voodoo setup. Then go back to first post and read how to fix it and fix it. I did! (not intentionally, I was just tired and not paying attention)

:)

Hey guys, jt just posted new cwm-all with fix permissions at xda, tar and zip files.

Last night I flashed from 2.9.2 NV to 2.9.2 V following the instructions at the beginning of this post. After leaving my phone charging all night, I unplugged this morning and the battery immediately dropped to 95%. Is that normal? Also, when charging, the screen stays on (didn't hapen before I messed with it, lol) Wondering if I should of flashed back to stock and then applied the 2.9.2 voodoo. and, lastly, can I go straight from stock to 2.9.2 voodo? Also, do I need to add one of the new kernels? sorry for all the questions, it's just that now that I'm comfortable updating and such, I get so excited! Thanks in advance!

Yes... the battery does not allow it selft to be "overcharged" so once it gets to 100%, it will stop charging, drop down to about 95% or so, then start charging again

I have noticed this too... not sure why. I don't know if the screen is just not turning off, or if the phone is not going into standy-by mode. Maybe one of the forum experts can chime in on this one?

Yes

Need? No... it is all preference and what you are comfortable with

Ok I have a questions for voodoo and cwm. I just saw that on xda jt has a new cwm.all out that fixed the (fix permissions) part of cwm. Ok so my phone has not worked with any of the new kernals other then jt's could fixing the permissions help on all the problems im having with the other kernals. Or would that have nothing to do with eachother im trying to fix my problem with out starting all over.

I feel like it needs to be mentioned.

OVER CLOCKING CAN CAUSE REAL DAMAGE TO YOUR PROCESSOR!

Felt the need to chime in here as well. All of my overclock experience has led me to: frustration (phone shutting down or becoming unresponsive), battery life severely shortened, and and overheated phone... with no - no notable performance increase.

I think that anyone is welcome to try - but must be aware that you are taking a serious and sometimes permanent risk.

The screen staying on while charging is a feature added in to superclean. Go menu=>settings=>applications=>development, you should see an option under usb debugging called stay awake, uncheck for off

Read GizmoDroid's last post in my trouble with nandroid backups thread. It's not fully fixed yet, but he provided instructions to get it to work until they fix one last thing
