How to Voodoo ***Updated 27 Mar 2011***KERNEL BUILT FROM SOURCE/SOUND/UNDERVOLTED

Hey Mike - maybe you could put links to all the files you mentioned in the updated first post. There are so many different versions of clockwork and stock files that it gets confusing some times. It would ensure people have the correct files. Great write up!

Could you tell me the advantage of voodoo (assuming I grow a pair) and decide to flash the super_clean_2_1_v.zip? I'd really just like a new undervolted kernel to help out with the battery leeching that the Debloated, deodexed EB01 is doing to me, but I don't know if you gain this or not through it. Thanks in advance.

ok, i updated the OP with some links. if you need any more just ask.

Gunner - could you throw a link at me for the procedure one would go through to get away from voodoo - if they ever decided to? Just would like to know what I'd be in for there if I ever decided to revert back. Thanks, man. Great stuff - and thanks for referring me to the OP too - helped a lot!

the same. its the old red cwm that does that, so as long as you have old red you are good.

Mike, I'm really sorry to have to ask something else about it, but you could you explain the process I'd go through if I wanted to leave voodoo just a little more? It wasn't too clear for me after re-reading your OP and then your last post. Maybe it would be if I just ballsed up and did it and worry about backtracking or reverting later when/if I needed to.

Edited to say "leave" voodoo.

you dont learn if you dont ask, you did the reading thats all anyone else can ask of you. so no worries.

how to unvoodoo is the second post in the thread. bascily you just boot to recovery and go to voodoo>disable lag fix and then reboot. once the phone reboots, lady android will reformat the file system back to rfs. its pretty simple once you get in there and see what posting for yourself. maybe i can post some pics or something. no promises but i will try and make the time.

also, do you understand what voodoo is? i know you had asked in another thread, just wanted to make sure you good to go on that.

Yeah - I didn't want to duplicate by telling you thanks in another thread, but yeah - you answered it for me - guess I should have just kept reading - didn't realize how to un-voodoo was the second post. You're really helped out. My phone is currently doing a nandroid backup right before I was going to do the non-voodoo-ed one, but I think it seems simple enough to go ahead and wait till it can download and perform the voodoo install.

One more question... I really love the puzzle piece lock screen. Will that .zip still be able to be installed in clockwork with superclean (same concern with the accurate batter / power option .zip)? Thanks again man! You rock!

im not sure about the puzzle lock. check jaekar99's thread for roms themes and kernels. i think there might be a dl for the puzzle lock.

glad to help. let us know how things turn out for you.

Any word on the "undo" method?
the undo for voodoo is in post #2 of this same thread. and can you please show a little more patience on getting an answer? It was only 14 minutes between your original post asking about an undo for voodoo and your next post asking if there was any word on the undo. A lot of these moderators and advisors have pretty much been running on no sleep since eb01 came out. They are answering a ton of questions from people on this forum, and I believe quite a few of them are also on xda forums answering questions and helping people there at the same time. I get that you are anxious to get your phone up and running on that froyo goodness and want your questions answered. Just understand these guys are swamped and somebody will get you answers and help you as soon as they can. Thank you.

Mike already answered that a couple posts back, but thanks though. I do realize I need to be patient at times, but there was already a question asked after mine that was answered by mike which was who I had directed the question at. I know others can chime in, but it's mike's thread, and we were kinda going back and forth on the subject. No excuse though, and I will try to do better in the future.

No worries. I'm the same way. When I start to learn something and I think I'm catching on, I want answers now to keep that euphoric feeling of "Hey, I'm actually getting this"

That's exactly what it's like... Like experiencing Christ for the first time. Hope you have. It's an awesome feeling.

Hey guys, just updated the OP, again. JT release a new new CWM. as long as you have the new new CWM the old instructions should work for ya. it seems to be doing fine for me.

Thaks for all the enthusiasm, it was a big leap for me to take the voodoo plunge, it was the cause of my first brick. Im glad i did though.

im unable to download clockwork from the links in post 1..is there another spot to download the correct cmw for a voodoo install?

Its a link to xdas site. Go to fascinate dev and to jts cwm for all roms. When I get home tonight I will fix it. If some one could post a good link in the mean time that would be great. Sorry about that.
