How to Voodoo ***Updated 27 Mar 2011***KERNEL BUILT FROM SOURCE/SOUND/UNDERVOLTED

If I am on dl30 super clean 1 is it really necessary to flash back to dl09 our can I flash to super clean 2.2 voodoo straight from here?

When I do this, the lady says "convert system partions, system not available" and it goes back to red cwm. I'm going to try to wipe everything and start over unless there is something easy to fix.

Edit: I started over, and it did it again. I will try downloading everything again and then try.

Edit 2: I flashed CWMRecovery_DJ05_DL09.tar.tar, and then downloaded Superclean v 2.2 with voodoo kernel inside it, flashed it in CWM and it pre-enabled voodoo, no need to go to voodoo menu in CWM, and then booted up fine. Everything is working properly now, I'm not sure what happened before.

What version of cwm is the new link in the op? I have 2.5.1.x - am I up to date?

I asked once before, but the game has changed. Could you put add links to the stock dj05 odin, the super dark rom, and the test 6 voodoo kernel that you used in the op?

And I do have one more question... Anyone know if there's another superclean update being worked on. There's so many new updates coming out, it's tough to keep up, so I'd rather just hold off and get the latest one before a break. Thanks in advance.

You flashed a nonvoodoo kernel.

I will be home in a bit to fix the link. I'm at my inlaws after shopping all day. The link is supposed to be to the xda site for jts cwm post.

I went from DL30 superclean 1.0 to superclean 2.1 nonvoodoo with no problems. Don't know about voodoo, will leave that up to the experts. I've been flashing the hell out of things, trying out different combinations on non-voodoo, and I still don't feel completely comfortable wading into the voodoo waters.

Voodoo isn't as bad as you think as long as you obey the rules.

Mike - you said run test kernel 6 (that's a DL09 kernel, right) on the DJ05 base (during the intermediate step), right?

And any way you know what version of clockwork you have up right now in the OP?

Pretty sure I've got everything setup to do it - just waiting to make sure I have the most current clockwork. Thanks in advance. Hope I didn't rush you too much.

Yes my master. I must obey. Let me finish a complete nonvoodoo build and do a nandroid backup before I delve into voodoo. Everytime I come close to finishing a nonvoodoo setup, Adrynalyne puts out an updated version of superclean :)

lol. you do not need to go back to 2.1. you can keep your same rom. just skip the part about flashing a new rom. infact you dont need to wipe data and cache.

adry is a machine. he cranks stuff out almost as fast as i flash them.

PFFFT! That'll be the day.

adrynalyne is a machine though! Everyone should make a chip in to his wife's nook color since she's sacrificing much of her time with him for our roms i'm sure.

Ah Sheepdog my savior. How do I contribute to the Adrynalyne make it up to his wife fund? I have his gmail addy, but what do I do from there?

Yeah I caught that advice from adry about not needing to wipe. I'm just also totally addicted to trying to help people here in the forums so I have to keep putting down my phone (I know can you believe it, something could actually tear me away from my phone now that it kicks total behind.) I think because I was a tota noob like......4 days ago, it's easy for me to understand where the latest noobs are coming from and what they may have trouble understanding.

Red CWM doesn't do anything when I do "enable lagfix"

even after rebooting, nothing happens

I was really really skeptical about voodoo for the longest time. Afraid I would brick badly after hearing so many horror stories. Now I can say I'm in the voodoo crowd. Just did it 3 mins ago.
Heres what I did..Starting from superclean 2.2 eb01...didn't wipe nuthin just flashed...
First odin jt's red CWM:
[RECOVERY] Updated ClockworkMod for ALL ROMs - xda-developers
Then with the red cwm flashed:
[KERNEL] EB01 Voodoo - xda-developers
Then went to voodoo in cwm to see if lagfix was enabled (it was).
Booted...that was a long wait..but the female droid voice was soothing and reassuring..hehe
sd card scanning was faster than normal...then did a quadrant test.
Previously my q scores were like 800 or so...now its 1483. I know quadrant scores don't mean much but SOMETHING must have changed or gotten better...cos 1483 is better than 800.

Just doing this 5 mins ago, I'm sure I'll see some more stuff/improvements...but went hella easy...so thanks gunner for this thread

edit: going into gallery, the pix I have at least a gig of wallpapers and cam stuff just FLY on the screen...they never flew like that before lol

Ok... I've done it! Running voodoo on super clean 2.2. Really hoping that there's not a new version of super clean that comes out. Here's what up though... I'm where you would get to if you followed mike's voodoo thread. I'm wondering how I restore with titanium backup? I've got a missing apps with data - 69, restore missing apps with data - 169, or restore apps with data - 239. Could you tell me what I need to do? Thanks in advance.

By the way... Really fast, but my phone still wigs out every once in a while. Just don't understand. Gonna give it a go though. Doesn't seem to do it near as bad with this setup. Thanks again.

I restore all apps and system data, but I'm pretty aggressive with deleting apps I know I don't want. For example I had the AOSP clock app from super clean in my back ups, delete, same for calendar, delete, etc. If you maintain your TiBu list you can restore your phone almost perfectly to where it was before a wipe/bad flash/brick. Rebooting shows all the system data that was restored.

That being said everyone else says to only restore missing app+data.

Voodoo isn't all that scary. The worst that can happen is you have to flash back to DI01, i'm to the point now that if I mess up i'm max 30 mins from exactly where I left off. Grab the DI01 back to stock file for odin and there's no brick you can't fix (that I know of.) I notice voodoo in a major way when I restore stuff via TiBu. Cuts the time by between 1/2 to 2/3 in my guesstimated experience. If you flash any new roms, make sure you flash back to the voodoo kernel immediately. I made the mistake of not realizing most of the roms come with a non-voodoo kernel unless mentioned specifically otherwise, and it caused me a lot of grief.

Hey man. Dang. You're fast. Thanks. I'll give that a go, and see what happens. If I end up missing something, then we'll look at some other option.

So can I just go from super clean 1.0 to the new voodoo eb version?

So is it ok to just flash the voodoo super clean over super clean 1.0 and just enable voodoo lag fix before I reboot?

no superclean 1.0 is a different build than 2.2. wipe data and cahce or stupid crap will happen to your phone. then flash now rom. then enable lag fix.
