does voodoo really make the screen better, give u better battery life and speed up the phone. i am looking into doing voodoo since i have been flashing new roms and kernels and all and now i am bored. so i need a new thing to try and this maybe it. what are some good kernels for voodoo and i do i need to flash a new rom once i do voodoo? thanks for the help...~!!!

well, it speeds up the phone, but I dunno about making the screen better or helping with battery life. my phone definitely boots up faster and apps open up a lot faster too.

if you follow the insturctions in the first post, it isnt hard. i list what you already need know before you try voodoo. if you are confidant with those things then you should no problems. i think everyones (including me) caution with voodoo comes from not educationg themselves. its only slightly harder than anything else on the phone. just follow the instructions, and you will be fine.

i also give uninstall instructions and troublshooting guide.

hahaha... yea I was bored of flashing other roms and kernels and such too that I figured I'd give voodoo a try. after trying it, so far I think it's worth it. you can always go back if you don't like it or if it doesn't work out for you for whatever reason. it's not too hard...

1. download voodoo kernels to your SD card
2. flash red cwm via odin
3. flash voodoo kernel in red cwm
4. ???
5. profit!

altho I did make sure to take my time so I wouldn't screw up anything. I also did not wipe my data and start from scratch, so that made it easier too.

I didn't wipe and reflash a ROM, found it wasn't necessary. you could just download Blackhole 3.0 through ROM Manager first and flash it yourself through CWM after you do a data wipe and flash voodoo. I believe it stores the files downloaded from ROM Manager on the SD card under the ROM Manager folder

i was able to find the rom on the sd card but is that one with a non voodoo kernel

each component is in separate zip files, so I believe you can flash it all separately, but it's obviously a pain. What I would do if I were you is download blackhole with all the options you want, with the 12/30 kernel, data wipe, and then flash the rom. after first boot up, power down and flash red cwm, then flash whichever voodoo kernel you choose.

so should i not go back to stock then and just flash red cwm and download a kernel first and put it on sdcard? then go into red cwm and flash the voodoo kernel and what is a good kernel that is not over clocked and what i am i looking for when i flash the red cwm

ok here goes:

1. flash blackhole through rom manager, data wipe and all
2. through odin, flash cwm red
3. boot into red cwm and flash voodoo kernel
4. wait for voodoo to convert your file system
5. win!

now go!

If you're using one of the newer Voodoo kernels, you already have the red Clockwork and don't need to flash it separately. And there's no need to disable the lag fix when flashing roms... as long as they don't include a kernel.

you only need to disable the lag fix if you want to flash a nonvoodoo kernel. otherwise flash the crap out of that baby!
