How's the battery life on your Nexus 5X?

Maybe an outlier, but mine was totally acceptable yesterday (Full Day 1 use for me).

Off charger at 0530 and ran it til it was dead (like the phone turned off) which was 9:57pm last night (16hr 27min). I'm also still in the honeymoon stage, so playing with it a lot. I did turn off Ambient Display because it seems buggy to me at this point. Turns on sometimes when it shouldn't, doesn't turn on when I want it too. So, I'll do without it for now.

We'll see how it does after a few more days of "stabilizing" or whatever it does to figure out how to optimize battery life.

Just my $0.02

I ran the battery down from 100% to 19%. I registered 5hr SOT without adaptive brightness.

I had barely 2hrs SOT and batt was down close to 20% . Was taking pictures and some videos. Not extremely impressed.

These two posts can tell you a lot. Doing a battery run down test you will get much more SoT because you are not having idle time. You get 5 hours SoT and 5 hours uptime. Whereas the second post is only getting 2 hours SoT but probably uptime over 12 hours. This is how my battery has been the first two days. I'm using it at random points throughout the day so about 2-3 hours SoT and I'm in the 35-45 % range when get home after about 18 hours off the charger (6-8 sleeping probably in doze)

I slept with 87 and woke up with about 53% . Phone was propped up. Do we know if doze only works if the phone is flat on surface? 30% drop after about 8hrs sleep just seems like normal battery drain. My cell signal is 5 bars too.

From the reviews I've seen the battery life is nothing to write gone about but it will get you to the end of the day

Apologies, I should have been more specific. I got 5hrs SOT over about 10hrs (9AM to 7PM). Battery was at 16% when I plugged in to charge.

Mine is terrible as well. Just barely over 1 hr SOT from 100 to 20 percent.
Well that sux. Looks like there's wide ranging reports of battery life. With so many variables related to individual phone usage, it's hard to get a clear picture.

Any new phone at this point has to fare better than my N4.

For the first 3 days I had it on but didn't have a sim in it and it lasted about that. Although I didn't take it to work 1,I still used and was pretty shocked bow much battery it would keep in sleep mode compared to my old nexus 5. Now it's active and going as my daily so we will see how it fairs.

I'm almost positive I read they describe it as sitting on a table so I'd assume propped up won't let doze work.

Frankly it's been kind of ****ty so far. I'm currently sitting at 50% with only an hour of screen time and it's only 3:30 in the afternoon. I'm going to give it a chance though, I've really only used the phone for one full day.

I got my 5X yesterday. I'm at 50 percent with 2:44 of screen on. Been off the charger since 5 a.m. (10 hours). I tried to post a pic via the mobile app but it wouldn't upload.

Mines not too bad. I've only had it for 2.5 days now. It will last the entire day with multiple phone calls and lots of internet browsing.

I, too, am interested to see what the Droid announcement on Monday looks like. I'm torn, because the leaked hardware specs on the Turbo 2 look like exactly what I want, but the software side is a loss, due to Moto's recent issues with not updating phones, and Verizon's refusal to allow unlocked bootloaders. I wish I could get the 2014 Moto X with a better battery and camera. Or hell, if the 2014 X was getting updated, I'd just keep it!

Plugging in is a problem ? Wow, arw you princess or what ? Idk why people are so crazy about wireless charging. I prefer cable so I can use it easily while charging

So my battery results today are a little different. First, I should note that I charged the phone in the morning but unplugged at 93%. Second, I downloaded about 500MB of data over LTE while on the road. Third, there is a usage bar for GPS . . . except I had Location turned off . . . so I'm not sure what's going on here. I'll have to look into this. SOT was just over 3hrs.

When we receive the phone, should we charge it to 100% before use? Or drain it completely before charging? I want to be able to get the full capability out of my 5x's battery
