How's the November Update So Far?

I have nothing but headaches with all my Bluetooth ear pieces. It's beyond ridiculous in this day and age. Just this morning talking to my boss it cut out like 6 times in the span of a 5-6 minute call.

Especially tough are the totally wireless earbuds where one channel drifts in and out. I think we need to remember that the purpose of Bluetooth has evolved over time and maybe it's just not well suited to do what expected of it.

Personally don't have any issues with any of many Bluetooth earbuds and in the car. Working perfectly every time, auto connects/disconnects in the car on start/stop as expected.

yeah, i seriously think they fixed something with Bluetooth in the update. Like I said, music/podcast info didn't show on my car screen, but now it does.

Not funny at all as you usually get what you pay for! Aren't the Airpods around $150? My Sony Bluetooth headset cost $349 and works flawlessly with my Pixel 3 XL.

My car costs a lot more and had BT connectivity issues =P
seriousness though i had some weird issues when i first connected the airpods but it seems BT more stable for me compared to yesterday

Airpods are OK as far as working and staying connected.

Can you use just one airpod and does Google Assistant work on it? I don't have any need for two Bluetooth ear pieces when driving, I just need a good Bluetooth that won't drop connection repeatedly.

You can use just 1 airpod, GA doesnt work from the testing ive done so far

Dang. I'm now thinking of trying to get the best of both worlds (iOS and Android). I just found out that GA is available to download on iOS and am back to thinking about getting the iPhone Xs again and putting that on it.

I need to put it on my wife's iPhone and see what limitations it has.

You can download GA on iOS but its not at the OS level, if that was the case i would have had more reason to stay on iPhone. Siri is garbage, one of the worst things to get going over...so nice to have GA back, makes my life a lot easier. GA on iOS is so half baked, i tried it for a week and uninstalled all Google things except Photos which was for backup.

Eh money doesn't always mean better . I had a pair of LG ones for $70 that lasted me like 3+ years w/o issue .

GA will never be as robust on iPhone as it is on Android simply because Apple wants you to use Siri.

Sometimes you get what you overpay for. There are drawbacks to airpods.

In terms of sound quality I don't rate them as worth 150 but they do work better than some at connectivity. I'm reviewing some buds at the moment that hold there own against the airpods at a fraction of the cost.

The Sony's you have sound great though the new version have better noise cancellation. They aren't always good at call quality for the person you are calling.

True... inferior AI, hear same things about Bixby. Honestly after using all AI systems (except Bixby but I did use Samsung older voice command system which was poor) I have no idea why everyone just doesn't adopt using GA. I know Apple doesn't want to give in but Siri is pretty bad.
