How's your wifi connection on Note 3?

For those that have issues with wifi and verizon, try this....

Turn off the app called caller name id...you might having the trial period on causing your 4G or 3G to be running constantly no matter what making wifi run funky.....i did this and my wifi is now back to running in tip top shape....for now anyways lol...

SOLVED:

Dial *#0011#
When you see the "ServiceMode" screen, press the left menu button
Select "WiFi"
Turn "Wifi Power Save Mode" button to "OFF"
Exit this menu, turn off your Wifi and turn it back on. If you already entered all your wifi credentials, forget your network info (remove it) and re-enter it again.

- May reset on Reboot so is temp solution.

Does it work for you, please do let the rest know!

Hi all I have just joined to post my WiFi issues.

I have BT Fibre optic Broadband and normally get around 76mb through my wifi and 93mb via cable but on this phone it is terrible.

It seems to constantly lose connection and then re- connect I downloaded some apps from the Google play store today that were about 10 to 30mb each you'd have thought that it was gigabytes with the speed and time it took.

Also the network signal strength is poor I'm lucky if I get 50%. I think that there must be issues with the antennas in this device.

I am close to just returning the phone as poor wifi and call strength are deal breakers for me, it's a shame as the phone is incredible other than the aforementioned issues.

I read some where else and did cache reset. Since then I have not got this message.

Verizon does not allow the #* service mode trick so cannot even attempt that workaround.

Also, turning mobile data off does the trick and my phone never disconnects. (And no turning off network switching does not help even though in theory it should)

The problem is that a workaround shouldn't be needed on a brand new $700 phone!

I wonder if the WiFi issues are to do with the phones being enabled for 4G?

Mine is not 4G and my WiFi is perfect, much better than my Note 1

Can i suggest those having problems with Wi-fi temporarily turn of their mobile data (4g) and see if it improves, just to rule out the possibility of interference?

I'm on 4g HSPA and LTE through the day... Go home and turn on wifi without turning mobile data off and I'm golden. So doubtful.

I think WiFi is supposed to de-activate 4G, but I wonder if it is doing that on all handsets from different suppliers?

I am hindered by the "unstable wifi connection message" as well....I have turned off auto switch network and am connecting to the 5ghz band on my Asus AC-N66U...this router is a beast, there is no way in hell it should be "unstable". I have had no similar issues with any of the electronics I have previously owned, i.e. gs3, nexus 7(2013), ps3, etc etc etc...This is rather disappointing and I'm not sure if there is a fix or if there will be an update coming soon to fix this issue. I have like a week left to return this phone and don't wanna be stuck with a new phone if it can't hold a connection to WIFI...what does everyone recommend? Wait it out or take it back?

My wifi is fine as well. Just as with any other issue, it could just come down to a bad component. I am sure every phone will not be flawless.

So far so good, working normally in all wifi networks I have tried. I have noticed better wifi than what I used to get on the nexus 4, but I am not sure that was a good gauge anyways.

Agreed! As much as I love the Note 3 I may have to return mine as working wifi is an absolute requirement for me. I was watching last night and it would connect to my home network, it would initially say the signal was strong and the link was 65Mbps, then it would slowly drop out ending up at 1Mbps and Weak for the signal strength. I then switched over to the 5Ghz channel and had the exact same problem. I'm hoping it's a driver issue and will give it a few more days to see if we get an update. I paid full retail, so I'm not willing to take a wait and see approach on if it's fixed or not outside my return window.

Hi, just wondering how you made out with the Note 3 and the Wi-Fi problem. I am in the same boat. My WiFi calling in the house and people can't hear me or it is scrambled. However, when I go out, off of WiFi, everything is okay. A phone costing this much, don't want to go pass the return window even if I just think something is wrong.. I think I am returning mine for a fresh one. If it is a global issue, then let it happen on the 2nd one..

For those on T-Mobile, expect an update in the next 2 weeks.

I am having problems with Wi-Fi calling..Haven't noticed anything else, I guess because I haven't browsed that much.. But, the Wifi calling I did notice. In my house when I call out with Wifi calling, I am told my voice is garbled. I move away from my house, made the same call, and everything was okay..I have the unlimted deal with T Mobile, since I got a hint that something might be wrong with the Note 3, I am not going outside my return Window..this one is going back, and the next one will get the update..
