I have to say that the battery on the eris killed it for me. I loved the phone and tried so hard to stick with it, especially since I was not crazy about the droid... but the battery was so bad that I was afraid to use it for fear of it dying before I made it home.
So I got the droid. I unplugged it at 645am this morning and used it more than I ever used the blackberry pearl I used to have. It's now 1216am (long day) and I'm on 20%--we're talking after gps on all day, showing off internet and actually using it, significant phone use, and sporadically using google talk throughout the day. The battery life, early adoption of 2.0 and the keyboard (you do get used to it, I'm using it right now) are all worth it. Miss native pdf support and pinch zoom, sure, but those are all fixable in updates, hardware is not.
