HTC Desire ROM

oh ok. i was a little thrown off by dapke's post. does it look like there is a strong possibility for the ril to be finished by this weekend or is it unlikely?

Yeah, sorry, I got the two confused. Guess i'll still be waiting.

Bizz, referencing my previous post, this install should be as easy as a nandroid restore, as now it installs/dl the partition for me? Or do I still need to learn adb?

Haha putting it off as long as possible.

If you don't know adb give it a sec ill post. The link for auto Rom it will do everything for you

You did post a good link for ADB previously, I am just confused by the wording of the site. It mentions one or two non-adb options.

Ok cool yeah I'm watching the threads over their and their avoiding questions about the ril like its the plague

If your trying to partition use Rom manager just do a 256 swap if you want to load the Rom your going to need adb for the system wipe. Just down load it and place it on your c drive. If on Windows it should be something like C:\android-sdk-windows\tools
As far as the ril who knows Jake just broke his Droid

When you partition you card it will delete everything on there right? And if so should I just back up my sdcard on my computer then transfer it back after I partition.

And if I receive a call when on 3g and it doesn't go through will it go to my google voice so I know I missed a call.

If you have it set up yes it will go their your phone won't rung though i have vvm setup just in case I miss a call I get the notification

If you use the method on alldroid that geek came up with it won't delete anything other methods backup your SD it will wipe everything

I might just try that this weekend I guess if I can back up using rom manager going back and forth wont be so bad.

Bizz all I do is install the autorom on my sdcard then flash sprecovery do a wipe from there and then just install the Rom?

Just boot into Spr and load the Rom it will do the rest
Full instructions
Install on a fresh rooted phone without the sd card partitioned
1. Download the autorom.zip for Aplha at http://alldroid.org/roms/motorola/dr...ha_autorom.zip
2. Run the setup_1_xx.bat file, were the xx is your sdcard size, example for 8GB sd you could run 08. (Note that only the 16GB one is include for now)
3. Wait for phone to restart.
4. Run the setup_2.bat.
5. Phone will restart when done it may take awhile.
6. It should boot up into the new rom.

If you dont want to use auto rom you can.
1. Download Alpha.
2. Put the unziped file in your nandroid folder on the sdcard of your phone.
3. Restart phone into recovery, holding x when the phone first boots.
4. Select backup/restore using your volume up/down keys, and camera key to select it.
5 Then go o adcanced nandroid restore.
6. Chose backup and then select the Alpha.
7. Then preform restore.
8. After the restore fishes you are going to want to go back to the main menu using the power key, and select the mount menu.
9. Mount system.
10. Plug phone into computer, and run adb from your tool folder of the android sdk.
11. Type in "/system/xbin/mk16sdpart.sh" (This is for 16GB sdcard only)
12. Wait for this to finish and then reboot your phone.

Notes about autorom: Right now it is only for 16gb sdcard this will change soon, but it will resize the sdcard so if you dont have a 16gb sdcard you can either do it manually or edit the setup_2 file and remove the line the that has /system/xbin/mk16gbsdpart.sh and then it will not do the sdcard and it will just load the rom.

mclarryjr, you can also download OTA the tar.gz. Just found these instructions, will probably try them myself once Bizz says the ril is fixed for incoming calls.

Re: Zeusdroid Desire Alpha Release [ROM]
Load rom from phone using rom.tgz
1.Download the rom.tgz from http://alldroid.org/roms/motorola/dr...desire.rom.tgz (can also be downloaded from phone)
2. Move the file to the root of the sdcard (root explorer can do this or another file manager right from your phone)
3. Reboot phone into recovery using "adb shell reboot recovery" or by powering off you phone and powering it back on while holding down x.
4. Go to the install option and select desire.rom.tgz.
5. It will install the rom and resize your sdcard to the 3 partitons needed for the rom.
6. Reboot and enjoy.

Warning, this will format your sdcard into 3 partions, you can not stop this from happening if you use this option. Also there are no options yet in the rom.tgz it just install the rom and setups the sdcard. You must have a 16GB for this, that is the only option at this point.
