HTC EVO 4G LTE: Last Update 4.13.651.4

So I installed the .4 update, and it seems to be working fine. The only problem is sometimes I can't pull down the notification bar? It also seems like my screen doesn't always work right, and not all my programs automatically downloaded like they did on the .3 update. Should I reinstall?? Thanks for any help.
Not sure about the notification bar issue. I'm not having a problem with that on .4. I did have a bit of a problem getting all my settings back when I installed .3, but one thing I know that was different about the process for me anyways regarded when I put in my settings. Being more specific, if the phone was fresh installed (or technically factory reset), if I entered my settings when the phone was initially getting started for the first time, as opposed to skipping past the initial setup, it would download all my stuff. If I skipped past the setup and entered my settings in later, it wouldn't pull in all my info, like my apps and such.

The other thing to consider is that maybe certain apps you had might not be compatible with the release? Or perhaps there are triggers in the play store that are software version specific? Just ideas.

After 5 weeks of testing, time for HTC to officially release this. They need to fix the live wallpapers, make sure the power saver switches from wifi to 3G to LTE, and while they are at it, add Clock to Daydream. I am guessing there will be another updated RUU next week. It is time, HTC. Make it official. Make it easily available to the rest of us. Get the testing over with. End of tirade. (HTC, thanks for keeping the EVOLTE relevant. ) And please give all EVOLTE owners an extra $150.00 off on the New HTC One. :)

Installed .3 a while ago and the only issue I'm having other than no data roaming, (which doesn't bother me at all) is that I can't seem to find an option to shut off the shutter sound in the camera app or while capturing a screenshot. Doesn't matter if the phone is on silent or vibrate, even with media volume off as well, the shutter sound still goes off. Very annoying, because if I take a screenshot around people, they might think I'm taking pictures, like on my daily commute, or at work.

I've had the .4 installed for about 5 days now, I haven't tried the live wallpapers.....never used live wallpapers. I can tell you the camera shutter sound still doesn't have an option to turn it off or automatically mute when you have the ringer on silent. I emailed Mo the other day telling him about the camera sound, hopefully they will get it fixed for the "final update".

I'm using the .3 RRU at this point and I can't get the .4 at this time. My question is has anyone addressed the overall phone volume in .4? The phone doesn't ring as loud, the external speaker isn't as loud nor is the music player volume.

Are you sure you didn't have some form of equalizer installed that changed the sound. I thought the same thing until I realized I had SAA's Equalizer installed - and all bars maxed. Just a thought.

No equalizers or sound enhancers outside of Beats Audio. I do see in .3 there is a way to manipulate default settings via the default.xml file but I believe you need Root to modify the file. My device is not rooted.

@HTCUSA asked me to follow them on Twitter so that we could "discuss the EVO update in private." So I follow them, and they send me a direct message addressing the shutter sound, saying, "this is by design..." "... please contact customer support...". USELESS!!

NOOB question, does my SD have to be installed during update? Thinking I could leave it out until after the update. Then insert after update to be sure nothing happens to data on SD. I have backed up the data. However concerned that the update will need to access to SD card files or if I try to insert SD after upgrade it may render something on the card useless.

Not if you're installing the RUU from a PC. Just backup your internalSD because it will get wiped during installation.

@ Captain Throwback and aowald -

Many thanks; I was going crazy trying to get this update installed. The .3 update went smoothly, so I expected no trouble with the .4 update. Boy was I wrong!

I had tried to update with and without Synch Manager, but it never occurred to me that I should actually open it at some point :-\

Finally have the phone updated, now the fun starts (setting up again).

I'm looking for the .4 RUU download link. I am not S-OFF and I'm not rooted and have no intention of rooting in the foreseeable future. I'm on .3 right now but like everybody else am unable to roam with data. Does anyone have a functioning link?
