No I'm pretty sure it's legit. The HD2 was meant to be an android device but it was scrapped because htc felt it needed to evenly distribute it's devices between android and Windows Mobile.

Alll we need now is to have this running on dual CDMA and GSM, this phone would be perfect. I am holding out for Q1 of next year.
