HTC is crumbling from within

Even though this is a excellent phone that gets a 9/10 rating from most users
HTC was doomed to fail regardless of the success of this phone because the expectations/goals of the success of this phone was basically impossible to reach.
The fact that HTC failed to have and 1st maintain the projected inventory they wanted to launch tells you all you need to know.
The CEO will not survive this.
So whats the over/under on who steps down first: The US Attorney General Eric Holder or HTC CEO Peter Chou

They're selling them as fast as they make them. That's much better for them than having inventory sitting in a stock room.

I never seen that down here with top tier subsidized phones so its either your buying your phones out right or you know some one but it is a good price

I'd bet on Holder going first. Chou probably has through the next quarter to show enough sales to justify his existence. It will be interesting to see if whomever leaked the alleged 5 million in sales was a friend or foe of HTC. For example, if it was one of the former or soon to be former employees, they may have leaked the info knowing it was inflated so the company will get nailed if the actual number comes in at say 3.5 million. I tend to think if the number was legit it would have come from an official source.

It has already been determined that it was a current HTC executive. No media site anywhere would post info it knew came from a departing exec.

Idk if I agree or disagree with you... Because all that matters is if they're bringing in money... Which they are, lots of. Although, I do agree that the expectations they set for themselves were a little high. Not the goals, the goals I feel were spot on given the product they put out. But the expectation that a single phone could bring them back was definitely unrealistic

I doubt you really ever had any interest in buying an HTC phone. This reeks of troll if you ask me

I know this topic is old, but this video didn't need a new thread. I found this interview to be very interesting as he didn't try to dodge questions. What I like most is how HTC is gathering metrics on the internet communities response to the HTC One. As stated, they must figure out how to draw the same level of interest with other consumer demographics. He seemed very humble and optimistic at the same time.

What a great interview! He didn't dodge any question, beside the Verizon one. It's good to see HTC so optimistic, and proud of the One.
