HTC Nexus Marlin Specs

These people have the options to get what they want instead of crying constantly for a feature virtually no one wants.
You don't need to overload your claims against us with quite so much emotional folderol. I'm not crying, and I don't give a crap how many people want anything. I want what I want. I bought it before; I want to buy it again. Neither of the projected 2016 Nexus phones is what I want. So, as far as the Nexus line goes at least, Google and HTC can cram it.

Peace. Out.

Be together, not the same :)

Which processor do you guys think or want in the Marlin version? Think it will be the 820 or the rumored 823 or whatnot. I'm so excited for more news.

Again, the HTC 10 has front facing speakers. Go and buy it.

You're a little quick to jump without thinking... The 10 does NOT have front facing speakers. It does have a single front facing speaker, but not front facing speaker"s" like the M8.

Hi,

So was looking for some opinions. I'm still on the OG Moto X and will be upgrading this year. It's between a few phones, but I'm wondering what do people prefer for fingerprint sensor placement? Front or Back? Is this really a big deal for people?

Like I said I'm on the OG Moto X so I have never had one. I do use my phone on my work desk a lot so maybe front would be better but I'm wondering what people think. Is the back one hard to get to used too? Thanks.

The one on the back is by far my preference, but if you're going to leave it laying on your desk to use it (as opposed to, it's on your desk and you pick it up), then front seems more logical.

I think my main concern is the adjusting to the scanner on the back since most I've just tried in stores are on the front, but it seems know one has had a complaint with it on the back or had a hard time adjusting to that. Thanks!

The location on the prior nexus is very comfortable to use and you get used to it quickly. If you go to Best Buy, many of those stores have the 6P on display. If they don't, finding a G5 would give you similar placement and size.

Sure. It's the bottom and the ear piece. How much does that change?

Both these devices look good to me. I don't need a larger Nexus but if I did, bam! I'd buy the Marlin with no hesitation. As it is, I'll be buying the Sailfish, which is the right size for me. Can't wait. :)
There may turn out to be odd details I'm not keen on, but meh, that's true of all devices. Don't complain....enjoy.

I still have a Note 4, where I have to swipe down on the home button to unlock, but with the newer Samsung phones, it's really easy just to touch it. I haven't tried a phone with the rear FPS, so I can't comment on the placement for that. Only time I could really see it being a problem is when it's laying on a table or something

Let's compare the rumored specs versus the 6P specs.

OEM:
Huawei vs. HTC

CPU:
SD 810 vs. Quad core Qualcomm (I'd say this is probably the 820)

Screen:
5.7" AMOLED vs. 5.5" QHD AMOLED

Interface port:
USB-C vs. USB-C

Camera:
12.3 MP rear; 8 MP front vs. 12MP rear; 8 MP front

RAM:
3 GB vs. 4 GB

Battery:
3450 mAh vs. 3450 mAh

Bottom firing speakers:
No vs. yes

Storage:
32/64/128 vs. 32/128

Bluetooth:
v.4.2 vs. v.4.2

This all looks like a standard hardware update. I am NOT trying to belittle the 6P or the upcoming Marlin. But this looks like the Marlin will match or even surpass the Angler in every area.

I think this will be an overall wonderful device. It may not be that great for someone who already has a 6P, but for one who needs to update a device that is a year or two old, this is not a bad move.

Edit: Specs for the 6P taken from: http://www.gsmarena.com/huawei_nexus_6p-7588.php

Agreed. Definitely an upgrade from my LG Nexus 5 lol.

I will admit...I'm not going to get the Marlin, due to size. I will most likely be getting the Sailfish. However, if there were to be only one device released for the Nexus, and this was it, I would get it, no questions asked.

None of this should make a difference. A device doesn't have a feature a person wants, then don't buy it. Why keep polluting every thread about the lack of that feature you want? People who want dual front facing speakers, go look somewhere else. It's not like this is the last available device on the market. Do these people go to the Samsung boards, Apple board, or Sony boards and complain about the speakers?

Yeah I love the Sailfish size but I'm all about battery more so then ever. Marlin just does it better with the higher battery. Sailfish isnt TOO far ahead in that department compared to my old Nexus 5.

Between the Nex5 and the 5X, the 5X lasts a decent amount longer. There is a 400 mAh bump between the 2. I suspect the Sailfish will be about the same as the Bullhead.

AS for the Marlin....I will try to keep an open mind. The thing for me is, I have run 3 devices that are 5.5" or better: the ZenFone2, G4, and Note5. In regard to size, I disliked them all.
