I got the Aukey quick charge 3.0 charger from Amazon. Seems quite nice! Why buy a 2.0 from HTC when you can upgrade to 3.0 for around $30 on Amazon.

Just wish I had a One A9 now to go with it...
December for the garnet color is really disappointing. They should have been more transparent about this on the pre-order site when selecting a delayed color. I had suspicions from other sources regarding this color, but I guess my wishful thinking got the best of me.

I just got the same email about the delay. My plan is to cancel the order at this point. In the grand scheme of things it's not a super long delay, but I will be traveling and wanted to have the phone before that. Now that I will not have it I'm more willing to sit back and wait.

Based on some of the comments I've read, it looks like the A9 unlocked is shipping later than I would have thought. I'm not sure if this story has anything to do with it, but in Taiwan the first batch of A9s have sold out.

Got the same email as everyone else, deep garnet delayed until December. Was really hoping to have this phone in time to travel in two weeks. May call and see about changing colors.

Got an email saying my shipment was delayed, but didn't say when it would ship. I went to AT&T store yesterday and they had one A9 on display, the dark gray model. I played around with it some. It wasn't that much bigger than my M7. One of the things I was interested in was how much bloat AT&T was putting on the phone and it didn't seem like too many apps. All of them except for the help app could be disabled, which is what I like to do with bloatware.

They had it set up next to the iPhone display and I can say despite all the news hype it looks nothing like an iPhone, except for the back, which you could also argue looks like the HTC M7. What it does look like is the Samsung S6. Anyway, I asked the sales person how many they had sold and he said none. But noted the shipment came in late yesterday.

It's $99 plus a two year contract from AT&T. Very tempting to pick one up and not wait, except that according to HTC only their unlocked models will get the fast OS updates. May pick one up anyway while I wait for the one from HTC to ship and then return it to AT&T when my unlocked one arrives.

Interestingly, at least to me, the Taiwan preorder is the same price as US.

I pre-ordered the "red" variant and I received the same email that others have received. Shipping in early December with 25% off accessories.

The wait may be a deal breaker for me because I was hoping to try this phone out for a week or two until Black Friday, and see how much the Galaxy S6 goes on sale, and then make a final decision around that time. Seems like that won't be happening and if the Galaxy S6 drops to a price that I like then I'll just get that and cancel my A9 order all together.

I guess I'll just walk into an ATT store and test it out there. Still a bit frustrated about the wait tho.

Aside from the discounted price, what's the point of pre-ordering if everyone else could just walk into a store and get the phone before you?

HTC can't even get a pre-order right. No one is getting them yet that pre-ordered? It's not like this phone is in high demand. Glad I cancelled my pre-order little while back. Played with it yesterday at AT&T store and its nothing special at all. It even had noticeable lag in the keyboard while texting and moving around some of the OS. The only thing HTC is doing here is digging their hole deeper. Good luck everyone.

Very disappointing that the Garnet is going to be the last shipped. Early December is nearly a month away. My hope is they are under promising and will over deliver on this. It would be really nice to get it well before then.

Another thing that is disappointing is those getting their phone shipped on 11/10 get the same we're sorry discount as those of us having to wait till December. We should get the quick charger free or at the very least the soft case free.

Note that it's the yellow and red, which att doesn't sell, that are backordered. Silver and gray are being shipped.

What are you basing your comment on? Reading the article about the preorder sellout, I would disagree.

Of course the article about the pre-order sellout wasn't read, just like none of the tech sites reported it either (or they conveniently ignored it). Yet had they only sold only 10 of the initial batch, every tech site would have had that story blasted all over the place. The anti-HTC sentiment is strong these days. Had the A9 launch been like the M8's, I think a lot of the pre-orders would have shipped by now.

I guess I just don't let things like a phone being delayed get me as upset as some people. I understand that it sucks that there was no disclaimer when pre-ordering about the gold and red being shipped later, and who knows what the problem is with the Verizon A9, but it could easily be just as much the fault of Verizon as HTC'. We don't know what the story is there yet.

I am not totally sweeping all of this under the rug, but it is just a phone. You can cancel if you really can't stand to wait until all the way until next week, or the end of the month, or even next month. Mine should ship on the 10th instead of the 6th or 7th and that just does not bother me. Once I get it and use it, I will see if I like it and if I think it is worth what I paid compared to other phones I currently have and use, which are as old as my 2013 Moto X and as new as my LG G Flex 2 and even more recent 2015 Moto X Pure Edition. If I don't like it or don't feel that it can replace one of those or just is not worth $399, then I will return it and that will be that.

Am I the only one that LoLed at them selling out "2000" pre-orders. That's a pitiful number and not exactly something to brag about. I'm pretty livid that I haven't received a email about my silver pre-order and that my deep garnet pre-order is going to ship in December...very poor supply management. HTC really dropped the ball this time considering their customers who actually pre-ordered were probably their most loyal supporters. We should've been catered to, instead of dealing with terrible management and the sour taste left in our mouth.
