HTC One Battery Life/Stats Discussion

My battery life is not really that great. This is my 2nd full day on my replacement phone, and I'm still not impressed. I even turned off GPS and Bluetooth.

You have a problem. 5 hours held awake. You need to look at what is holding you phone awake and fix that.

Compare to LindtChocolate above, excellent battery life - held awake time about 1/2 hour.

No idea what is causing that. I don't really have a whole lot. According to GSam it is Maps, but I haven't even opened Maps since I received the phone.

EDIT: Just double checked, no idea. One of the headaches I had with my old Android.

I have had my black htc one for exactly 1 week. With moderate use i can get almost 2 full days on 1 charge. On the other hand my atrix 2 would only last around 8-10 hours with moderate use. I am very impressed with battery life. I am almost always connected to wifi both at home and at work. I think the thing that impressed me the most is there is almost little to no drain on the battery when you are not using the phone. When I go to sleep and then wake up 6-7 hours later i have maybe 5% battery loss. And I use white noise app to help me fall asleep. My atrix 2 would lose around 20 % in that same amount of time. After having this phone for a week I can clearly say this is the best phone I have ever had. The only negative I have found is the power button is a little flush and tough to push with my case(incipio frequency) on. I have solved this problem with the Auto Screen On app from the play store. Love this phone !!

On 3G.
Battery saving app: 2x battery saver
Blinkfeed, calls/SMS, Facebook, meddling with the phone.
Brightness below 20-30%
Maps and location disabled.

All in all, not really impressive since I have manually disabled a number of apps too (stocks, radio, etc.)

What is the point of having a feature rich phone if everything is disabled and it is in deep sleep all the time?

IOS has great battery life because it limits what programs can do in the background. I'm not convinced that background wake time is the real culprit for battery usage. In most cases I'm convinced its unrealistic expectations. If you have doubts just turn on the background data limit in the built in power saver feature. Most of us turn our phones on constantly and data usage wake time is really not needed.

I use it about 15-20 minutes every hour. I have my data on, 4g most of the day and lte for a few hours when I'm at home but I use WiFi almost all day I go through 200-500mbs day with it. Background data is turned off. I keep my screen at half brightness with auto off. Im blown away with how long it lasts.

I've watched a few vids on the phone today. Browsed this forum for a few hours. Flipboard for about an hour. Bacon reader for about an hour. Gallery for a few. Checked emails about 10-15 times.the chive for a while. Took photos of it under a microscope with the screen brightness at full for about 10 minutes. Browsed the web for a while. Talked on it for about an hour total.

I have a similar issue. Mine is being held awake just as long, but it says power 0.0% next to it. Is that power consumed? If so, who cares because its not consuming any battery doing it. Or am I missing something?

I might need to give it more time but does this look weird to anyone?

Pretty sure that update was already implemented in the phones in North America before release.

would be nice to know if that is confirmed. i keep seeing various people commenting on what was and wasn't included in the US release.

Cam somebody help me with this? Gsam is saying media is consuming a lot of my battery. Battery percentage is just ticking down with the screen off.

I've had mine since this past Monday, charging it only when it was around 20%. The phone does last me a while, except during heavy use (music, games or videos).

Today's use was about 1.5hrs of sporadic picture taking, and some light 4G web surfing. Everything else was on Wifi surfing. The phone has been off the charger since about 630AM, with only about 5mins of charging while I was figuring out why a picture album that was renamed and moved to a different directory wasn't saving to Google+ pics.

Changed my battery app, but will run a test tomorrow to see how its working out. Oh yeah, power save is set to CPU and Data Connection
