When I updated my HTC One to KitKat, I also experienced very poor battery life. Somewhere in the forums I read that a factory reset helped. It's a hassle to have to resetup a phone from scratch, but I chose to do the factory reset anyways. Glad I did. After the factory reset, and completely resetting up my phone I find my battery life is outstanding again. And no I have not taken any measures to preserve battery life. No dimming the screen, no turning off wifi, mobile data, gps. None of that nonsense. It really worked for me and was well worth the effort. I've been on battery 17 hours with light to moderate use and still have 53% battery left. Before reset I was only getting about 8 hours with light use. It's worth a try. Good luck.

Here's a screenshot

Just one more thing to add, I experimented with having Data Connection on and off in the Power Saving mode, and when switched on, it makes a big difference to battery life.

Battery life is always such a huge concern as it should be. Use this thread to share and post your battery life & stats. Screen shots, written experiences or whatever you got were willing to listen and learn from others possible tips and tricks.

Enjoy!

I don't know how to post my picture but my phone is on 48% in 2 hours from a full charge and it always seems to die so fast even when idle in my pocket for a few hours any help?

Try a factory reset. But keep in mind to back everything up, because after doing so you will have to setup your phone all over again.

Reading these battery issues, I'm wondering if I should go back to using my HTC One.

I use the Snapdragon Battery Guru on my HTC One M7 and love it. The app will analyze your usage for 2 to 3 days then determine how to preserve your battery life. Works quite well in my opinion.

so here are a couple of pictures of my battery consumption after a couple of days! What do you think about it? Is this normal usage per full charge?

Can't really rely on the averages yet because its only been a couple of days, but after a full charge and when you get low battery if you have around 4 hours screen time that will be average.

so here are the most current screenshots I've taken. Is this normal as I'm experiencing only around 3 hours of screen time? Are there any tips how I could get more out of my HTC one battery?

I could see three hours being normal if its moderate to heavy use like games or videos. I get about 3 hours and 50 min average, I do not use power saver however, if its 3 hours screen on with power saver on then that wouldn't seem normal.

Anyone have battery issues like mine? 100% to 66% in a span of 2? hours without turning on the screen once.

Looks like your signal may be a bit weak. Is your phone being taken to/kept in areas that have spotty 4G signal? Your phone could be using up battery trying to hold on to a weak connection. Wifi on, but out of range? Your phone looking for a wifi connection could also explain some of the drain. And it looks like towards the end, it's being held awake by something. Do you have push notifications on for any app (Facebook, Gmail, etc.)? Like anyone with battery life issues, your first step should be installing Gsam battery monitor and doing a bit of troubleshooting.

After a year with the phone, I am finally starting to get a few battery issues. It is draining a little faster than it used to but the problem I am having is that it will go from 7% battery life and then skip all the way to 1% and then turn off in a 3 minute span and this is happening with full service and only using Chrome browser, no games or streaming or maps, etc.

Has this happened to anyone else? Is there a solution other than factory reset because I hate doing that?

Thank you kindly

Same thing happened to me, I was instructed to do a battery calibration and factory reset, nothing worked so I got a warranty claim. New device the issue is gone.

For all users that have battery drain problems I recommend us do a Wipe Cache and Wipe Dalvik cache, that Give you again a good performance.

Give more suggestions please. Good night.
