I already posted this in the other US release date thread as well as his response that he was indeed talking about the US for mid april. this doesn't need its own thread. no need to make another new thread -_-
HTC wants you to buy their phone as close as possible to Google I/O in May so that after you buy it, and the 15 day return window closes you get to swear "Aw F!!" when you see the better offers being announced.

The official HTC twitter account also said it was not coming to Verizon and that turned out to be false. AT&T and other carriers have a role in when the phone will be available so even Jason Mackenzie doesn't know everything.
I agree here the Carriers get to chose the release date, HTC just supplies the phones
LOL...if they don't have the supply then the carriers clearly can't release devices that aren't available.
He does to an extent. He knows what the carriers want in terms of allotment and knows when HTC can give that to them. So yes he kinda does.
We all know that carriers are odd creatures of habit but I have never known any to have stock and not put it out on sale. Right now I can confirm for fact that two ATT stores by me do not have the phone and have received nothing on arrive times.
All I know is that there seems to be an issue with supply and demand, and this may be the second time in my like I line up for something outside a store(first was the Wii). I really want this phone and if supply will be an issue, like the Wii, then I'll be waiting outside the store.
Yes, but when I emailed HTC about the release date for the phone they said as far as US supply they have enough for a launch, and that everything is now down to the carrier side to give the release date

Yep, but I don't see any further reasons for a carrier to hold sales if they have stock of the HTC One. The only thing I could see them holding out for was last Thursday and that has passed. I am really thinking that we are going to see the launch on the 29th.
Once again, who would know more about the US release dates...the customer support rep you emailed with at HTC or the company's President of Global Sales and Marketing? I know you WANT it to be released this month (as do I) but it clearly isn't happening.

Neither really.... president of GLOBAL SALES not president of US Sales.. that's like me saying im making footballs for the NFL but I cant give you a specific date when my footballs would be used because that's up to the NFL to decide when to use them
Yes the President of Global Sales would know when the device would go on sale in each country. That's kind of his job lol!
