HTC One delayed in US until Mid April

The same arguments over and over. People that say the modding community is small, are wrong. People that think sd cards and a removable battery mean nothing to people, they are wrong. Back to the same arguments over and over:D

Ok then how many times have read an article on... say New York Times, or Walstreet Journal or some other "everyday" run of the mill not very tech savy publisher about a review of a phone and walked away saying something like, man that person is a total idiot and had no idea what they were doing in that review.

Or how many times have you walked into any carrier and found a sale person that knows something other than what was wrote in the sales description. I know I have only ever found one and even that person couldn't tell me much more than what you read on the verge.

I bet you have and the reason why is they are everyday people, and even the tech savvy ones are no where near us.

Oh and the one I love is why are the rechargeable USB emergency battery devices not selling well? There are some out there but if dead batteries in phones(especially smartphones) are such a hug deal then why are they not being sold on every street corner.

For every retort you have I can double it. It's pure common knowledge that once you leave the tech base of the 30% or less buyers out there your in the realm of the every day joe and trust me there are a lot of them.

At the end of the day I have more people running to me to help them with their gadgets than I care to mention.

I think that is assuming quite a bit. Many of the top paid apps in the market are root only apps. People assume the masses don't care about features and what not, and are more like sheep. In my opinion, these stances are wrong. People do care, and spend billions. To be able to add a 64 class 10 sd card means something. Being able to swap a battery on the run means something. It is quite hilarious people think because of the colored lenses they look through, everyone should see it the same way.

Boggles my mind why people argue over having a choice. Choice of features are good? Do you think the world should produce phones without expandable storage and fixed batteries because nobody cares about these features?

My last comment on this subject.

I never argued over choice. I was simply saying that not offering those items are not the reason for a phone to not sell well. I am simply stating that Sammy is winning the Android wars because it did a great job in the beginning and it does a great job at hype and marketing. The SGS4 reviews saying "much of the same" shows that Sammy is riding the marketing train all the way to the bank, and good for them because Android wouldn't be nearly as well off if they weren't here. Take it for what you will, but I'm done and my point was proven, moving on.

No worries. I agree that a phone can be a hit without those features as well.

No one can really argue and say "Samsung isn't the king when it comes to marketing Android" unless you are a fanboy of another Android OEM..

People are going to buy what they see.. if people see a commercial or a billboard a 100x a day its going to make you want to try it or see whats the fuss about since everyone is talking about it. Give a celebrity a product and i bet all their fans will be over it.

People also trust certain brands, if your company has a track record of bad devices or customer service they aren't going to forgive you for that and risk having the same problem over again.. If you bought a product and had to return it 4x would you buy it again the 5th time?

People do care about SD card slots and batteries and if the device had that im sure it would be even better.. but its also other phones out there which doesn't have a SD card slot or removable battery and they are still selling well.. soo its all about user choice at the end of the day..

If you think no SD card slot and removable battery is a deal breaker than move on to the next thing

So... about the release time being in April or March..?

Well... It seems that people are still keeping their hopes up for March.

Right now we have Merrill Lynch saying March is a go for 4 markets including the US. But then we get the global market VP at HTC stating the US wont get it till mid April.

To confusing at the moment to know who is right.

I have a very good friend that works two ATT store, manager, and she will let me know instantly when she gets anything through the pipe even if she is not supposed to.

So right now it's anyone guess and a waiting game which makes for a very edge forums :p

omniusovermind and SERO wireless

I have been a sammy fan for 3+ years now. I never considered another phone brand simply because I always got, mainly pushed, to buy sammy. I did have an HTC Evo for a short while but my fiancee had her Evo for two years and loved it. The whole time I owned my last phone(Epic 4G Touch, SGS2) for nearly a year and a half, I never once bought another battery or ever concidered it. I have only removed the batter cover to get at the SD card and that was very rare. I also only have ever had an 8Gb card in there.

What I'm trying to say is that a removable battery and SD card never really did it for me on those phones. I just don't see how a person can justify that as a deal breaker. But to each there own.

as for why LG is having issues its not. The Nexus 4 is made buy LG and I know three people who own the phone and love it. Sammy is having a great time with sales simply because they played their cards right early in the game and it's paying off for them now. If sammy removed the SD and removable battery I bet no one would notice or ever care. Shoot I'm willing to bet that other than being on this forum for geeks that most everyday people who walk in and don't choose Apple is because they were pushed towards Android and pushed to Samsung. And of those only 30% or less will ever care about a SDcard or buy another battery and that 30% or less is us, the geekier group.... hell that really doesn't include me as I never bought another battery and have been usign the same 8gb SD card for the past 3 years. LOL I just don't think it matter's to the majority it's just the brand, marketing, and more so the sales person.

This. I'm still rocking my 2 year old motorola with a removable battery I've never had to change or need a spare, and the same old sd card I barely find use for.

Just a quick question i can understand why htc one doesn't have removable battery because of the design.. But whats the reason for no sd card.. Im just asking before some people on here start having a go

Less parts? Less clutter?

Theoretically, the SIM tray would/could use similar mechanics.

so i would assume your friend does not know anything about the phone yet?

They are following Google's Android reference design. SD card's and removable batteries are supposedly not in that design. Funny thing is more companies are following those two references but none followed the track ball design requirement in the early days LOL

Just talked to an insider. US launch is Q2 2013. Holdup is that the US carriers want their name on the phone. He said it was not worked out yet.
