HTC One delayed in US until Mid April

Just talked to an insider. US launch is Q2 2013. Holdup is that the US carriers want their name on the phone. He said it was not worked out yet.

God, I hope this isn't true! (no offense to your insider)

[edit] Not that being delayed is a huge deal to me, but to have it delayed for something so silly would be infuriating.

I agree and the three corporate Sprint stores near me say no news, but one did tell me to keep checking daily and even looked up if I can upgrade.

Still nothing new from Rogers up north, they still have the reserve/preorder date set at the 22nd but I find it hard to believe they would launch a phone with absolutely no warning...

Why would they need to warn you if they already set a date.

yea that would be weird, att started to sell their one+ for .99 cents today so the phone is coming just no one knows when

They didn't actually set a date, on the site they have a chance to win a TV and HTC Media thingamabob if you pre-order or reserve before the 22nd, and have also stated that the phones will ship "On or after the 22nd" So that could really mean anything.

I'd expect to see a big banner on their front page saying something along the lines of "HTC ONE available at your local Rogers store March 22nd!" If it was a certain thing, I would be there when the doors opened.


UPDATE: Looks like they dropped the price of the One X and most of the other HTC Devices at the same time. It's looking more and more like it is launching tomorrow, so why don't they say anything.

Did you call your local store ? If they don't got no shipments or training then it's pretty much useless

Well, no information from two separate Rogers stores. Basically wouldn't tell me anything.

It is already up for pre-order for us, I really do hope it launches tomorrow. Can't wait to get my hands on this phone.

I don't really see it launching tomorrow either.. but then again HTC Trade up program resgistration date must be done by tomorrow so if we don't get a launch I would definitely expect a pre order

Iphone is the exception to the rule. It was the first device to offer a full touch screen experience with music player and internet. It was revolutionary. Something never seen before. People had to have one, evidenced by the incredible lines that formed at Apple stores around the world at launch. IPhone whipped up a frenzy in the public conscience. It quickly became a pop culture phenomenon. Apple could have announced that the iPhone battery only lasted 10 minutes and the lines still would have wrapped around city blocks.
Removable battery covers didn't matter one bit because iphone had transcended nuts and bolts.
Love it or hate it, iPhone created a category that every other manufacturer clamored to replicate.
So iphone is the exception to the battery cover rule.
