HTC One (M8) Photos & Videos Thread

Re: HTC One (M8) Photo's & Video Thread

All these look good to me. IDK where the issues are

Do you mean all the photos in there?
Great pics!

So you're a Xfitter, huh? Or are you the box owner?

I don't think all of them are from the M8. The pictures at the gym are from another camera but I don't know what else is.

A few pictures with my M8. The bottom two I edited.

Yes, I am a Crossfitter. I took pictures of our Open competition each week and hosted them on Flickr for people.

The HTC M8 pictures are in the Set "HTC One M8", all of the others are from Panasonic cameras (Micro 4/3 and P&S).

First I want to say that the camera is better than I thought it would be after reading the reviews so definitely not a hater. On page 4 am I the only one who thinks the One X picture is better though? Both are very good but the One X looks better to me. I think my old One X took better picks than last years One most of the time to be honest. Thoughts?

I own both and I'd wholeheartedly disagree. In the pics I posted on a previous page (taken a week apart), the One X has lacks any color in the sky or trees and is just bleached looking all-around. The position I was standing in when taking the One X pic was favorable to the car and it was an entirely different day, so they are not 100% comparable. When side by side, I prefer the M8 to anything else I've used. I snapped a couple of quick ones right now to illustrate.

The One X (which I love) has poor white balance compared to the M8 (2nd pic). M8 also has better detail, contrast, and sense of depth. The colors on the M8 are closer to what it looks like in real life, with the wall being a light blue and no greenish hue. The One X blurred slightly, which is sort of a slice-of-life, because I just woke up and am not holding either cam steady. The M8 is fast enough to keep up though.

Edit; had another pair of photos but one wouldn't rotate in photobucket so I deleted them.

There looks to be more detail in the One X picture to me but it could be that the pictures I'm seeing on the computer screen are different than what you're seeing. I got much more detail out of my One X than my wife did with her M7. I guess we will agree to disagree on the detail aspect but like you said its hard to compare pics taken on different days. We took a few pics in outdoor settings at various baseball games and the M7 couldn't pick up the detail that the One X or my Note 3 did which is what I would expect. But again, not hating on the M8....it is much better than I expected at least on this forum. the review pics have been terrible.

Starting to learn the effects on this phone. The reviewer who said the dual-focus was worthless has lost all credibility with me. It's so cool! I've only messed with a couple photos so far but here's one I grabbed while kitty was staring at a lizard. Unfocused the background and threw on a preset filter. Oh, and this is a heavy crop, yet the detail is still fine.

My bedroom has weird lighting and it's rather "low". And than you have the 60" plasma beaming off the wall lol. But I captured this picture of my little Yorkie and used U-focus. Oddly this is like the first picture I took after getting back from at&t with the M8. Point and shoot literally lol.

U-focus can be pretty great but sometimes it doesn't work right and will produce some strange effects / artifacts on areas of the picture that should be in focus
