HTC One: This is THE BUG Thread.

Re: This is THE BUG Thread.

I'm confused at what your issue is ? Could you explain in more detail please?

Hi ,

When i press the dial button it only defaults to "Phone" which is last number dialed.I want it to default to favorites .I changed its settings to reorder tabs to my pref but it doesnt listen.

Hope this is clear

Re: This is THE BUG Thread.

I've got two, HTC was unable to resolve either.
I can't stream any of my ultraviolet cloud video's. Flixster fails with a video error and Vudu says my brand new HTC One is not supported. My two year old HTC Inspire 4g streamed just fine on whatever version of sense it ran and Android 2.3. Is that a Sense rant? Maybe, it might be an Android 4.1 rant. Either way my movie collection languishes.. :-\

I want to synch my calendar from the MS Exchange server at work, but I do NOT want to synch my hundreds of emails. Can't do it. You can turn mail synch off in the account, but the email app only allows full synch or manual synch and apparently ignores the account settings. So if I accidentally drag down my email list, a manual synch starts and off it runs to start dragging down my work emails... :(

Re: This is THE BUG Thread.

The message app on my lock screen isn't working right. When I get a text, it doesn't show the notification on top of the icon.. But now, it's just permanently there..?

Re: This is THE BUG Thread.

This is rather annoying. Was wondering if anyone else is experiencing this....

Every week or so, it seems that the links I created between contacts break and I have to re-establish all of them again. For example, I link my Google contact to Facebook and LinkedIn for Sense. Then about a week later, I scroll through my contact list and see them as separate contacts again.

What would cause them to "unlink"?

Re: This is THE BUG Thread.

Heyyy...
For sometime now i have been experiencing a wierd problem.
Whenever am using 3G-Mobile Data Service, if my data is inactive that is if m not using any data related services for about 10-15mins, i stop receiving the Whatsapp msgs, i need to manually go to whatsapp send a msg to someone and in turn i start rcving the msg that missed in that time period. Today i was in an meeting for 2hrs and coming out of conference i saw 0 whatsapp notifications. So i sent a msg to my wife and den i strtd rcving all the msgs that i missed in last 2hrs. I have been observing this for a week now.

Whereas when am on WI-FI at home, this never happens. I keep getting Whatsapp messages instantly without any hiccups.

I have checked all the setting.. My PowerSaver is off, Sleep Mode under Power Setting is also off, fast boot is also unchecked.

Can someone help here please...

Re: This is THE BUG Thread.

Not sure if anyone else has had this problem, but I've been noticing that every now and then when I try to make a call, it will hang up and immediately start the call again.
That's usually a carrier problem. Contact them for help.

Re: This is THE BUG Thread.

If you listen to music and have the phone in your pocket, after you get a call and disconnect, the phone turns on in your pocket.
There is a known button sensitivity issue on some models. Have you tried to update all the software? See if 4.2.2 fixes it in a few weeks.

That's not a bug, that's just how it's designed to work.

The phone icon is a hard coded shortcut to the dialer and you can't magically turn it into a shortcut to favorites anymore than you can turn the shortcut to messages into a shortcut to some other app. By default the dialer shows the last number called (you can change it if you select full screen keypad). The phone icon isn't a shortcut to the favorites in your address book. I know they show up on different tabs in the same window, but they're two different things.

I've done some poking around and the favorites don't exist as a separate icon anywhere else so unless you want to create an app then you don't have a way to do what you want since the home screen icons are just shortcuts to things that have to otherwise already exist on your phone.

If you have already launched the address book or dialer and have swiped to the favorites tab and double tap home and select the app from recently used it will still be on favorites. If you launch the dialer from the home screen though it's going to go to the dialer every time.

Re: This is THE BUG Thread.

Hi guys,

I have an issue with my htc one, i use it more than often for whatsapp and not for making calls but recently i tried to call someone on my faveorite list and the sequence goes liek:

Phone button>slide to favorites>pick the person and click on the number

I would expect once i pressed the number, it would automatically call the person.

But it din happen with my phone, the phone just "blink" and then nothing happened, i tried to hold when pressing the number and then some actions i can take such as "edit, save to Sim, call, new message", can press the call and sometime it works sometime it doesn't.

I dont know whats wrong with this, could this be issue with the settings or where i save the phonebook?

Can anyone help me?

Thanks a bunch

Re: This is THE BUG Thread.

HTC One Unlocked - potential security threat here. If you have an lock delay (the time between turning the screen off and the phone going into lock), you can unlock the phone without the code/pattern. The procedure is:
1. Reboot
2. While the phone is restarting, while the white HTC One screen is still up, start swiping up as if to unlock. Keep it doing that continuously until you get the home screen.
3. Once you get the home screen, the phone should unlock without asking for a code
I've tested it with and without fastboot, and with pattern and PIN, and it's always there. The only way around it is to disable the delay.

Please test and confirm!

Re: This is THE BUG Thread.

Another (but minor) security one. If you have a dropbox pass code, you can just bypass it by opening up Polaris or PDF viewer, and accessing your dropbox account through HTC Files.

That sounds more like a android bug, and not a HTC One bug. I know that if you plug a android device in via USB that you can bypass any password by entering in a code. In any event I couldn't reproduce your 'bug' on my phone so it's not universal.

Re: This is THE BUG Thread.

Oddly, this doesn't happen to me with the sound that plays when you change your volume, but it happens everywhere else. Usually on things that change the colume in stages of 16ths, and not 8ths. Play some music and try it.

From silent, I turn the volume up once, and it is predictably extremely quiet. Once more, and the volume jumps from like, level 1 to level 4 or 5. Turning it up once again makes it quieter again. It's like volume level 2 was made out to be level 4 or something.

It's not a huge deal I guess, and I've learned to compensate for it, but it's there.

Re: This is THE BUG Thread.

Only bug that i've noticed is that the ringer volume seems to toggle to mute intermittently on its own.

I reset it and then some time in the next week I'll have to do it again. I'm hoping 4.2 fixes it. Very frustrating.
