HTC One: This is THE BUG Thread.

MSN Email server search

I have a problem with MSN email setting - particularly the capability to search for an email on the server. I setup my msn email as exchange activesync and use the server setting as s.outlook.com or m-blu.outlook.com - with both these server settings, my emails, contacts and calendar sync properly. Additionally, I am able to search for emails on the server as well. After some time (A few hours or a day later), the server settings automatically change to m.hotmail.com - everything still syncs but I loose the ability to search on server.

Anyone come across this problem? Will appreciate it if you could help me resolve this.

Thanks.

I might not have understood your question properly, but you might not experience any of these bugs when you use it. Even if you do, the bugs may be fixed with future updates, so if the bugs aren't too annoying to you, it's still a good phone.

The build quality issues that are being reported are probably by a small percentage of people. I think I was lucky enough to get a well-built piece. If you like the phone, buy it, and if you do notice some build issues, then I think HTC will replace your phone.

I dunno if they're really build issues, but lots of people have complained about small gaps between the panels (mainly between the speaker panels and the rest of the body), and also the screen not being flush with the speaker panels.

Re: This is THE BUG Thread.

I have an issue with font size n the text application. Even though I have it set to extra large it reverts back to large. When I check the settings in the text application it shows extra large???

Re: This is THE BUG Thread.

I read through the audio issues... I didn't see this one listed:

I am getting a faint pop when I switch off any audio program. It sounds like it is happening when the audio is shutting off. Happens with Beats on or off. Anyone else getting this?

I wonder if anybody actually searches or reads before posting? But to answer you yes, many people are experiencing this. Including me! Hopefully it can be solved with a software update. It sounds like it is the amplifier shutting down perhaps. At this point I am not worrying about it. But you are not crazy!

Re: This is THE BUG Thread.

Mine's doing this too, it really butchers all kinds of words in landscape. Incredibly annoying.

Agree 100%. If I want to see people's FB pictures, I'll go look on FB. They need to at least allow you to disable this "feature."

Same here. This needs to be fixed!

So i have been wanting to move back to a landscape keyboard as well lately and it just completely butchers my words as well! Anybody heard about a fix for this yet? Works fine in the standard messaging app but not facebook or the forums

Direct Dial shortcut works one day then the next it states app not installed. I have already restored it once. Please help.

Re: This is THE BUG Thread.

I noticed when running in shorts with the phone in my pocket (and the glass side facing towards me) I was hearing pops and even someone feeling static being generated by my shorts and the glass screen. I have run with iphones before and never experienced that. It stopped when facing the screen out and reducing the friction and corresponding static generation.

Re: This is THE BUG Thread.

my bugs,
1. home and back button don't work sometimes, but if i lock and unlock the screen they start to work.
2. the home and back button don't light up sometimes even in the dark.
3. sometimes in a dark room my brightness is on auto, and my screen is lit up like the sun, like it is on full brightness.
4. i don't know if this is a phone bug or a t-mobile network bug, but sometimes i can be sitting on my couch in the same spot and my signal will have 3 bars on 4g, then all of a sudden no service available, and sometimes its on 2g, all of this while sitting still in the same spot on my couch, or even at work sometimes while i am sitting still in the same spot.

build quality is flawless, the plastic trim is not butchered up, speaker grills are fine, no gaps shining light through.
i'm sure most of these bugs are software related, but who knows when htc will fix this because they are known for releasing phones then a few months later pretty much ignoring them. will it take a week for them to fix, a month, 3 months? i still have 7 more days to decide if i want to keep it, but i will probably trade it in and get the galaxy s4.

Re: This is THE BUG Thread.

So, my One decided to start getting hot for no apparent reason. Closed all apps in the task manager and it was still staying hot. 103F. I did some more digging with Elixir and ATT Hot Spot was running for some reason. I don't have the plan or start the app. Force stopped it and it began to cool down. Could be timing, but that seemed to be the issue. I'll report back if it happens again.

On a good note regarding the home and back buttons: I have gotten into the the habit of swiping them and it works everytime. The double tap is working better now too. Maybe a physical break in?

Re: This is THE BUG Thread.

Blinkfeed and weather don't automatically refresh, I'm sure this has been mentioned many times.

Your back and home buttons not responsive? Do you have a screen protector on? That's probably your problem.

Re: This is THE BUG Thread.

Sprint HTC One factory reset itself. It took all of my nieces birthday photos with it!

I read this whole thread and no one else mentioned this. I found that this has happened on a variety of phones in the past. No one knows how to recover photos (especially since there is no SD card). Seems to be caused by corrupted memory after an improper shutdown (like a crash). In this case the battery completely died. When trying to turn it back on (while charging) it shut off again. When it did finally come back on it was factory reset.

I use Amazon Cloud to auto upload all my images to a private cloud drive. If you install the app on multiple devices, it keeps it all nicely separated in folders.

On my cloud drive, is a "Pictures" folder. Inside that are subfolders called "HTC One" "Nexus 7" , etc.. inside each of those are the exact images/albums of the respective devices they came from. It's REALLY nice and super handy.
