HTC screwed themselves by not releasing this on Verizon

But then it would just get lost in the rest of the "Verizon screwed their customers" threads.

Every carrier has an exclusive GS3 color. AT&T - red, Verizon - black, T-Mobile - grey, Sprint - purple.

Yeah I know. I was just making the point to the other user that sometimes carriers still get exclusivity in some way even if it is that company's "End all, be all device of the year". More specifically when they stated how it was silly for AT&T to be the other carrier to get the 64GB if this is supposed to be HTC's 1 big device for the year.

HTC doesn't want to screw around with carriers that already have too much control as it is and Verizon has their "My way or the highway" approach to allowing devices on their network.

Seems like Verizon is recently saying the same thing to their customers as well. I'd rather go with a smaller "crappier" carrier that cares about you being their customer, even if only superficially, than go with some big megacorp that would just as soon spit on you as they would have you as their customer.

Screw Verizon. I broke contract and left them for AT&T because their customer no-service was so terrible. I don't care if their network is objectively better or not, they are the worst when it comes to treating their customers and other companies like garbage.

Largest network in the country and HTC's hail mary phone isn't on it?

The HTC CEO should've been on his knees at VZW HQ begging them to take on this phone.

err.... second largest... and second worst.
- at&t is larger (in terms of subscribers AND coverage - and i'm saying that while NOT being an at&t customer)
- verizon STILL don't even have simultaneous data+voice. that relegates them to the pre-3G era no matter what their marketing folks say. sprint is worse (a lot worse) but both verizon and sprint are pretty horrible compared to any network (anywhere in the world) that ACTUALLY sells what they advertise (e.g. ACTUALLY having a 3G service)

So what are people that are on other carriers who want a 64GB HTC One supposed to do? Before you say "Go to the HTC site and order it", keep in mind most phone purchases happen inside of a store.

And comparing an exclusive color choice to that of an entire phone or GB model isn't a winning argument, aesthetics don't dictate how much apps or media a phone can hold. An exclusive GB size or phone would cause more moans than a color choice because, despite a different color choice they'd all the be same internally. Not too much to get fluffed over. Anyway I don't really care too much to get into an argument, just commenting on exclusives and how they affect people's choices. I for one don't care, if the phone isn't on my carrier I'll just pick something else up, nothing to get in arms about. This is what most people do, and that's what I did when I was looking for a phone and settled on the DNA only to find out that it wasn't on Sprint. No one's going to leave their carrier that they're happy with and go to AT&T just for 32 more GB, they'll take whatever's available or find something else that fits their needs.

Verizon didn't screw anybody. HTC didn't screw anybody. Nobody screwed themselves. HTC is clearly trying to solidify a unified branding, which Verizon didn't want to be a part of at this time. It doesn't mean Verizon won't get some version of the phone, but HTC needs this period of time to get the One branding noticed.

It's what works for Apple, and what has worked for Samsung. It's the right way to do things, but during this first phase it isn't going to make every customer happy and you can't expect it to.

I can use voice and data simultaneously on 4g...

i think theyll be fine offering it to the other 200 million or so wireless subscribers in the country

This is just more of the same from Verizon, and the main reason that I switched to att. I wanted the iPhone, and it didn't look like it was going to happen on big red. I switched and then finally, 3 years later it FINALLY happened. 3 years is an eternity in tech-time!! This just makes me SO glad I'm on a carrier that is more forward thinking and cutting edge than slow, backwards Verizon.

Eh? What are you talking about? Last count shows that big red has approximately 7 million more customers. And they definitely have att beat on coverage nationally speaking.

I am not a fan of any carrier, and you should choose the best coverage for your area,in my area Verizon is the best,in 2 years never any issues with signal or phones,i currently have the DNA on my second line, and have till August on my first line,by then Verizon could have the One or an upgraded DNA,i am pleased with my DNA for the time being.

All the carriers suck. They only differentiate themselves on how badly they suck and in which specific ways they suck.

It would be a shame if Verizon were to put their logo on the HTC One.
I can see it now, plastered across the back of all that beautiful metal.lol!!!If you don't want Verizons logo,(let me see if I can say this w/o throwing up)get an Iphone.

By forcing HTC to give Verizon the Droid DNA instead of the One, Verizon again shows why they are an evil empire.

Not trolling. I would've jumped on this phone had it come to Verizon. But I'm not going to switch to a subpar carrier to buy it.

Stupid subpar carriers.

Actually, I agree. HTC should have gotten this phone in as many hands as possible.
