HTC Software update available incl. Menu button fix

So in the browser the tabs button has moved from the bottom to the top beside the address? The bottom was faster for switching between open windows without reaching all the way up top. Not a big deal, but I liked it in the bottom right when you grab and pull down to bring up the web page options.

I have to give HTC kudos for this update. I ran the updated stock ROM for a while and was impressed with the improved smoothness, multitasking, and ability to remap the recent apps button. It *almost* feels like a custom ROM :). My only complaint would be that they totally nerfed the sound enhancement.
Overall though, if the phone would have came like this out of the box, I probably would not have been so anxious to root it. But after experiencing Jelly Bean in the form of CM10 on this phone, I just can't leave well enough alone :p

Also a further thing that seems to have been fixed is that annoying font increase/decrease in the stock texting app. For me it was doing it on a daily basis, sometimes multiple times a day, with no clear cut explanation, so no real way to test it besides giving it time. Has not done it once since the update. Here's hoping...

Did anybody else notice the htc 'mirror' app is no longer available after the update?

Not true,, I still have it. I just typed mirror in Google search like before and it popped up.

It happened yesterday, there is a slight fix for it. So if your font just decreases out of nowhere, back out of the messaging app, close it out in task manager as well and open it back up, it'll be back to normal. See if you adjust the font size yourself, it'll be even larger from when you had it cause the app still has the settings of the size still within itself but if you adjust it and the app gets closed out from either the phone itself or your doing it'll take the new size and apply it. Very confusing what I just said so next time just close the app out completely and go back in it lol.

I'm not sure I'd quite call that a fix, more like a work around. It hasn't happened to me yet since the update, but I'll use that method if it does. I also noticed that besides random times, it also happened when putting it in, and/or taking it out of the car dock (I use the iBolt one), but otherwise it just happens randomly.

I don't keep up with this stuff like I use to buy did anyone else notice YouTube links open on the YouTube app now. Thank god again.

Or did we already know this was coming. Lol.

Yes, I noticed that as well under App Associations. However, the YouTube links do not work for me. It runs the video on the mobile YouTube site and doesn't open the app.

Yeah there is an option to have links open with the app...but it makes no difference, links still open in browser

Has anyone with unlocked bootloader and root run this update? Did it fail or run and relock the bootloader? Reinstalling root is no problem, but unlocking the bootloader again causes a full wipe... don't want to deal with that...

I flashed the stock recovery. Downloaded the ota. Installed. Bootloader was still unlocked.

I don't know the method of unlocking you.used. I did the HTC official way.

Download quick shortcuts and you will be able to find all the HTC hidden apps and download them and get the icons.

I used the HTCdev unlock, so the official way... then did a fastboot to twrp and installed SU... nothing past that.

So I assume if I do the OTA it might fail because I am rooted, no biggie, can uninstall that.. but other than that, it shouldn't blow up the phone?

No, look in the notification area. There is some sort of battery app running in the background.

Are you talking about top left? I have that also, mine is simply called battery widget. If that's the same one I have, which it looks like it is, it's a good one.
